Walkingwomen Description

WalkingWomen is about making wonderful walks more accessible. It's about un-pressured walking in beautiful scenery, or challenge and adventure if that's what you want. It's about attractive and affordable places to stay to suit a range of tastes. And most of all, it's about the fun and stimulation of walking with a group of other women! We provide guided walking holidays in the UK and abroad.

It has grown from small beginnings in 2000 and has been shaped by the rich contributions of our guides and all of the women who come on the holidays –funny, enthusiastic, generous, fascinating, friendly, and all so widely different! You make it special for us. Thank you!

⭐⭐⭐And the winner is⭐⭐⭐
In last months' newsletter we gave you the chance to win a fold-away daypack. In celebration on National Parks Week we asked you to send us in a picture of your favourite National Park and we would pick a lucky winner of the daypack.
😁😁😁The winner is Sophie Younger! 😁😁😁
... She sent us in this beautiful photo and here is what she had to say about it...
"The photo (taken by me) is probably my most loved one of Cairngorm National Park, which I walk in often. I was descending from a spectacular day in the mountains, on the path from Ryvoan Bothy, which passes the stunningly beautiful Lochan Uaine, which is set among the ancient Caledonian pines of Rothiemurchus and which is also known as the 'emerald loch' because of the colour of the water, on its way to passing Glenmore Lodge and finishing a little further down Glen More."

Weekend breaks are the ideal way to get away from it all and offer a chance to relax, walk, talk and escape the routine. If you've not been with us before, or simply fancy a short break, then why not join us on our upcoming Peak District weekend in September. Great walks from the doorstep of the lovely Hartington Hall Youth Hostel: https://walkingwomen.com/…/2018-low-int ermediate-hartingto…/

Tuscany was incredible, stunning and the walking women were friendly and inclusive. Just loved everything about it including the great lesbian connections I made. Was sad to leave. Can't wait for the next trek. India? Nepal. Either way I know it will be well organized and well worth come across the waters from Canada. Clare Kelly is a great leader

Recently been on the Austria Cross country ski holiday for the 2nd year running. A great holiday in a stunning location. The accommodation and catering at the Walcherhof Pension is amazing. Clara and Anita were wonderful guides and companions. It was good to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.

Really looking forward to our trip with WW in Wales next October. Our first holiday with them was in the Lake District in 2001 and in 2012 we had a wonderful time in Italy on the Gentle Tuscany trip. WW has great guides and accomodations have been excellent. So much fun to make new friends while hiking in beautiful places!

Just returned from a skiing holiday in the Dolomites, I would just like to pass on my thanks to Raffa our guide for the week. Who was absolutely brilliant, so supportive of me on the slopes as a first timer skiing with WW and so knowledgable about the area, Really well organised holiday re getting around the area and adapting to some challenging weather conditions, so that everyone got to ski every day.

She was never off duty ensuring everyone was catered for and interpreting in mountain huts and the Refugio. Also lending me extra warm clothes as the weather turned unexpectedly extremely cold. She was so professional and warm and friendly. Had a brilliant week with a great group of supportive women.

Will definitely be skiing with WW again.

I love this company and wish I lived closer so I could join more often. Several years ago my Dad passed away after an illness. I felt the need to get away by myself but I wasn't ready to be completely alone.

I found Walking Women and joined a photography walk in the Lake District. I still consider that holiday to be one of my finest.

The women I met were so very warm, the leaders so knowledgeable and the location beyond compare.

I do still hope I can manage another trip with them sometime soon. Thank you WW!

An excellent 5 day walking break in Northumberland, taking in the magnificent coastline, visiting Bamburgh, Alnwick and Dunstanburgh Castles, plus a trip to Lindisfarme with the Priory, Castle, Gospel Museum. Stunning scenery, excellent companions, stayed in a wonderful hotel - Sunningdale Hotel - and a lovely, friendly, knowledgeable guide in Pam Satterthwaite. Weather variable from pouring rain, wind and mist but it didn't upset out plans. Would certainly recommend Walking Women holidays, great value and a variety of loctions. Looking forward to booking the next one.

User

I just had the best holiday for years on the Lesbian Lakes break. I was unsure what to expect but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The guides all knew their stuff, the weather was good and the company excellent. I will definitely be going on another of these breaks :-)
