Thanks very much to all my fantastic customers for their continued support throughout what has been a very busy year. Wishing everyone, and their gardens, a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015 when it comes. All the best, Neil.
Hedge and shrub trimming and shaping. A general rule being trim in summer cut back hard in winter.
Another one that was unfazed with my garden activity
Not often you see these guys during the day, this one was feeding very close to where I was working.

Wow, what happened to June! Sorry, I've been so busy looking after everyone's garden I haven't had a chance to post up June's gardening tips. Better late than never... http://www.wellkeptgardens.co.uk/june-gar dening-tips.html
Does not take long for nature to take over your garden if left unattended but they can always be restored.
Freedom!!!!!!!!!!
Got home from work to find our resident Robin trapped in the greenhouse. It entered through the auto-vent but became trapped as the vent closed when the temperature started to drop. It was rather stressed as was his mate who was trying to get to him through the glass.

Archie the Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel treating the Euonymus as an outdoor basket.
This variegated ground covering variety a must for any shrub border, but they are a breeding ground for blackfly and the fruits are poisonous
... Little or no pruning is required, but they can be cut back hard if required.

Spring tidy and Pruning Cornus (Dogwood).
There are no general rules for the Dogwoods because there are two distinct groups each with quite different features and requirements. The first group as pictured is the coloured bark Dogwood, bearing eye-catching stems which are useful for providing winter colour. The rule for these are to hard prune each spring. The other group consist of varieties grown for their flowers and autumn coloured leaves and require little or no pruning.
If you want the red barked variety choose C.alba 'Sibirica' for the brightest stem and C.stolonifera 'Flaviramea' for the yellow barked variety. Looks good when they are grown next to each other.
