We have had the pleasure of working in the Arcade several times.

Every time we go all the shop keepers have been so friendly & helpful.

The staff who run & look after the Arcade are always welcoming & will do anything to help.

The Arcade has the best makeup shop so my wife says and the Cheese shop is wonderful with a wide variety to choose from.

We can not wait to work in the Arcade again.

This is a great place to visit with a selection of nice restaurants and shops. Live music and attractions give it that bit extra. Sit back and relax while dining and listen to some of the great artists who perform here.

Some gorgeous shops in this arcade especially Dolly pegs and the boutiques, well worth a visit.

I've been lucky enough to be asked to perform a live music set at Westgate Arcade recently.



Im very impressed by how the area has been revamped. For me this area epitomizes the growth and development of our Halifax town centre. I frequent the shops, and have enjoyed many family meetings and celebrations at the daytime food places and evening restaurants.



I'm proud to be part of Westgate Arcade and have been actively involved since Revo Records invited me to sing and play at their 20 year anniversary opening celebration over 10 years ago!!

I'm looking forward to performing again this summer ��

I had the privilege of performing to the wonderful people of Halifax in the arcade.

The acoustics are wonderful and there is literally everything under one roof - clothes shop, coffee shop, restaurant, record shop to name but a few, but the best part about it is the glass roof.

So whatever the weather you can still do your shopping or chill out without worrying about the weather. And with the added feature of entertainment on every Saturday, it is certainly well worth a visit/ re-visit.

Came from Leeds to see Santa today, wow, what an amazing man!

We cued for about 3/4, but was worth it. The whole experience was lovely. When it was finally our turn, I was surprised by how long Santa takes with the children talking to the kids, asking them questions and actually interacting with them unlike other Santa’s we’ve been to. Very magical experience, he obviously is the real Santa... � well worth the trip! We’ll be back next year!

After a little mishap, David got in touch and rearranged for us to visit Santa. The kid's ABSOLUTELY loved it and it really was the best grotto I've attended with the kid's. Santa and his elves were so friendly, kind and very, very realistic. There is no rushing of time and very relaxed with plenty of time for pictures. The kid's took letters to Santa and he actually read them out and kept them to take them to the North Pole with him. 3 very happy and excited children, now waiting for their presents tomorrow �������

Some lovely shops, cafes and eating places in the Westgate Arcade. But as other people have said - do NOT park in the westgate arcade car park! Privately owned and they dish out fines for fun. I drove in but decided to park elsewhere as I couldn't understand the prices at the ticket machine. I was fined £60 for being in there 11 mins. I appealed and offered to pay for the 11 mins but they declined it.

You need to sort your car park out - you might get more visitors then

What a shame that a thriving part of town has such a criminal operation taking place in the form of Westgate Arcade’s car park. From reading this Facebook page alone (never mind other sites like Money Saving Expert) I’m one of many to have received a fine from this parking “company”. It’s disgraceful.



Westgate really need to sort this out as it’s clearly an issue that’s getting worse before it gets better. The word is already spreading about this car park and they’re shooting themselves in the foot by not addressing it. As a regular customer of La Luna, Cinnamon and Bottomleys (not to mention the Piece Hall), I can assure you that I will NOT be using this car park again. Shame on you.

Wetgate Arcade is wonderful. The car park, run by a private cowboy company is attrocious. DO NOT PARK IN THE WESTGATE CAR PARK. Even after purchasing a parking ticket you will get a ticket. My elderly father in law just received a £100 fine even after displaying his parking ticket.

The car park is operated by HX Car Park Management and Westgate Arcade refuse to take any responsibility at all. Despite people receiving extortionate fines even when they can prove they have paid and have adhered to the contract posted. Proving the system is flawed.

This has no reflection what so ever on the businesses within the arcade.

Parking at westgate....AVOID. This company is letting down all the great shops in Halifax. People come and wish to shop, pay and think nothing of it, Only to find out the company says they haven't paid and that they are now going to court. Luckily a few have saved tickets and can prove it but imagine how many people really collect tickets once paid! I feel so sorry for the many stories i have heard and i will be avoiding this car park at all costs. How they are left to rip off people who are trying to come and support the shops in Halifax is disgusting and if let to carry on will drive people away! AVOID

Like countless others, I parked in Westgate car park to shop in the Arcade and I went to Pediwear to buy my little boy new shoes. I paid and displayed and broke no rules whatsoever. However I have been issued with a fine. Disgusted doesn’t come close to how I feel about HX Car Park Management and Westgate Arcade for allowing this to happen.

I feel completely conned and betrayed for my custom. I have proof I paid, but from what I’ve read, this company is dishing out fines for fun and doesn’t care for proof. This is causing a huge amount of distress to your customers! Why are you allowing this to continue Westgate Arcade?

I’ll be shopping elsewhere next time.

I would just like warn people not to park in the car park attached to Westgate arcade. They are becoming more and more known for fining people unfairly. People who have paid the correct fee and followed instructions are still being fined.

Westgate arcade have been informed and have chosen not to look in to or take action, and continue to recommend this car park. I feel this reflects badly on the fantastic businesses that operate from the arcade.

Please if you continue to park in this car park keep your ticket so you can prove you have paid if you get issued with a fine.

Also please report any unfair charges to Westgate and the council.

Great Arcade with great shops cafe’s and restaurants but very badly let down by the car park on Horton Street which is run by an unscrupulous management company who give £60 parking tickets out for even the most minor infringement, appeal is useless, £100 if you don’t pay in time , £200 awarded to them by the courts when your appeal is turned down plus court costs. Be warned! Park elsewhere to visit this fine arcade. Such s pity �

As many have said, great arcade, scandalous car park. I parked here two weeks ago, paid and displayed, only to receive a PCN because my ticket only had the last three letters on my reg plate. No idea whether the issue was with my fingers and thumbs or with their machine - difficult to tell on a sunny day when you can't read the display easily.



Either way, I will contest it and expect to win as there are plenty of precedent of such cases being won. Thank goodness I still had my ticket when the PCN arrived a week later.



If successful, I'm happy to share the defence here for all to see :)
