Wike Campsite Description
Wike is a small back to basics campsite, it is a 9 acre site on two levels, with many wooded areas, some perfect for bivvi camping. There is a small stream running through the site alongside the Bottom Field which is suitable for Dam Building.
Indoor accommodation is available in the main hut, and will sleep up to 30 on carry mats and lilo’s with an adjacent leaders room with 3 bunk beds.
The nearby Bunkhouse will sleep up to 8 (6 + 2).
Our site is available to Scouts, Guides, Schools & Universities and Religious Groups for a range of events such as Duke of Edinburgh Award activities, Camping, Conferences or Away Days, Training, Celebrations, Remembrance & Quiet.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to help at Saturdays working weekend. From those clambering up and down the banking to remove the logged trees, builders of the new fence, to those who moved a mountain of twigs and branches onto the woodpile in both the bottom field and by the car park and those who brought freshly baked buns to keep us going. Then there were the makers of teas and coffee, pruners of trees and shrubs, sweeper uppers, clearers of leaves, restakers of baby trees, resurrectors of the orange net fences and scrubbers of the oven.
It was an amazing amount of work that you all did. Thank you so much and watch this space as we are planning to hold another one in (hopefully) a couple of months.😆😆😆😆😆

... This will be a general tidying up day to get our district site ready for use as the main camping season approaches.
No specific skills required and tasks abound to suit all abilities
Tea, coffee and biscuits available all day but please bring your own lunch.
Feel free to stay all day or just for an hour.

Hi all,... Wike Campsite is up for a grant from the Aviva Community Fund for a much needed refurbishment of its toilet and shower facilities. While its primary use is Scouting it is also open to many youth groups like the cadets, DofE expeditions and has hosted events such as weddings! This improvement would greatly benefit all who use it, but we can't do it without your support to gain the funds to do this.

The shower room is also getting attention....maybe we should have got leeds rhinos to sponsor it!
A beautiful shiny blue one which looks like a swimming pool!!!
So what has been happening behind the door....... well a lot of you know we have been repainting the walls - which is still a work in progress - but with a couple of weeks clear of usage, some decent weather and the amazing effort of the SAS the dismal peeling red floor has gone. And in its place............
What new developments have been going on here in the past few days......
