E cigarettes are still a good way to quit. You may have heard of the health scares in the US. E-cigarettes are more heavily regulated in the UK and are generally considered to be safer. Medically they are still a recommended method of quitting.See the attached video to find out why!

Please check out this App. What3words is an app that the emergency services are increasingly using if you get into trouble in a rural location. It will enable them to pinpoint where you are EXACTLY even if you are on the side of a mountain or on a beach etc. See this BBC website story for more details - the app is available on Android and iphone. Get you and your family to download it - you never know when you might need it.

Leeds Libraries are a fantastic resource for Health & Well Being Information, but so much more. Have you been to your local library recently? Worth a revisit. Know anyone who is housebound & not online? They have a home visiting service - let's help break exclusion & isolation!

Shenstone Surgery in Churwell is now getting a make-over! The work will start on the 15th July and we will do our best to keep disruption to a minimum. This is part of a continuing programme to modernise our buildings so we can continue to improve the service we offer. Please see the building plans attached for more information.

ACTIVAGE Project, Leeds Could technology help you or someone you care for live more independently for longer? Leeds City Council is offering a trial project, ACTIVAGE, in partnership with Samsung to provide technology to people aged 65 and over living in Leeds.
The ACTIVAGE project aims for more people to be healthy and active as they get older through the use of smartwatches and phones and gives piece of mind to family and loved ones through a set of discrete sensors around... the home. There is also an ŌĆśevents near meŌĆÖ option to encourage more activity and an ŌĆśemergency triggerŌĆÖ option to alert a named contact if required.
Participants of the project must: ŌĆó Be resident in Leeds ŌĆó Be 65 or over (next of kin or carer age unimportant) ŌĆó Have broadband at home
If you or someone you care for fit these criteria, please email activage@leeds.gov.uk for a signup form or complete the online form at https://surveys.leeds.gov.uk/s/activagesu rvey.
