Would just like to say a massive thank you to Woodlands, especially Abbigail, for making our wedding here so perfect! The venue is beautiful inside and out, the food is amazing and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Abbigail was brilliant throughout all the planning and made it so easy and stress free!! Would recommend as a wedding venue to anyone- we had the best day ��

We had our works Christmas party at Woodlands on Friday 8 th Dec. It was perfect from start to finish. Beautiful venue in a great location. From the marquee decor to the excellent service we had a perfect night. Not easy to keep 100 guests happy but you did it.

Thank you to all the staff - Reception, Event Organisers, Waiting Staff, the DJ and the Management. We will be back!

We had a fantastic day and the food and the venue were stunning as was the service.



A special mention to Beth who was one of the hostess's on the day. The feedback we received from our guests about Beth was exceptional and she went that extra mile to deliver a brilliant service. In fact one of our guests was so impressed she wrote a letter to the Manager suggesting Beth should be promoted!



The guests also commented on how amazing the venue, the food, the saxophonist and also the disco in the evening were.



Some comments were:

"best wedding ever", "stunning venue", "amazing food", "exceptional service" and "fantastic bar staff".



We had a truly perfect day and could not have wished or hoped for a better venue.



As a setting for the wedding photos it made a wonderful backdrop for Craig, our photographer.

Took my parents for their 54th wedding anniversary today. Had the special Valentines themed afternoon tea and it was wonderful. The white linen tablecloth and napkins along with the lovely well maintained and clean public rooms and warm welcome from the staff was a great start and it only got better. The afternoon tea was fresh, tasty and plentiful with our teapots replenished regularly. The sandwiches were traditional finger style on soft brown and white bread with oodles of filling. The homemade scones (both plain and fruit) were warmed through and superb. The sweet treats were yummy too. We did not manage to eat them all but had the option of taking our leftovers home which was a nice touch. We had a look at their sample Sunday lunch menu and we will definitely be returning here soon.

Myself and my new husband would like to thank all the staff at Woodlands Hotel once again, for making our wedding day beyond perfect for us. Woodlands exceeded all expectations we had and it truly was a magical day. Jessica ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the whole planning process, nothing was too much trouble for her. We really cannot thank you all enough, the new Mr and Mrs Downs xx

My daughter got married here at the weekend. What an absolutely beautiful place! The rooms were very spacious and the beds were so comfy. The food was delicious and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. They made my daughters wedding one to remember ❤️

Just wanted to let you know how fantastic our afternoon tea was. Food amazing, plenty of choice and scones best we've all had in ages! Plenty of attentive staff and drinks of our choice. Lovely surroundings, great temperature to sit in and comfortable room. Best afternoon tea we've had. Please pass on our sincere thanks to all your staff today, all polite and attentive to our needs.

Incredible, mind blowing, Fairytale.

From the food tasting we did many months ago until we checked out on Sunday morning. Our experience cannot be put into words other than PERFECT. The staff are a credit to you, nothing was too much trouble, it was s very large Wedding, but you coped as though it was a normal day. The accommodation was 5 star, the food was 5 star, the staff was 5 star and the hotel and grounds are just magical. I'm sad that it's all over!!! I just want to Thank You for making my daughters wedding the Fairytale she had dreamed of since being a little girl. Victoria and Jamie were just blown away with everything. The phones calls I have received Thanking us for just a perfect wedding . It's all down to you, obviously Victoria and Jamie Gledhill had a part in it. I took my family for Sunday lunch to celebrate my 70th Birthday, and I am so pleased that I did. The Woodlands certainly produced 5* service. It is a beautiful venue, the food was gorgeous, and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Thank you for making my birthday celebration so special.

Had our wedding here on Saturday and it was fantastic from start to finish, the staff could not of been better!The entire day went without a hitch,food was great & rooms were beautiful!Every one of our guests have said it was fabulous so thank you!!

Came at lunch to have a drink/food and exchange Christmas gifts with our friends and the service was excellent. The gentleman in the bar area was so helpful, got pasta made up for our little girl, was on hand for anything and even told us to leave any rubbish from the presents and he would clear it up. So welcoming and would return in a heartbeat.

Attended my cousins wedding 22/03/18....I can't comment for her... But what a beautiful place.....wonderful staff, nothing too much trouble..... The food was to die for.....I'd like to know if we can come for the goat cheese balls and the dip to take away?? � they were absolutely outstanding. many thanks for a great day and I'm sure most will agree �

We had Afternoon Tea today for my mums birthday and the food was absolutely delicious and mum had an amazing time as we were really well looked after. I have only given this 4 stars though as the Gluten Free Afternoon Tea only consisted of 4 halves of sandwiches, a brownie (which fair enough was huge) and a Lemon Posset yet I paid the same as a standard Afternoon Tea. It definitely wasn’t worth £18 - however the standard definitely was. The feedback from my mum and her friends was really good! I definitely think the gluten free should have reflected in the price. I still had a lovely afternoon though and didn’t leave feeling hungry. Just felt for £18 there should have been more GF options on the plate �

Had a lovely Sunday dinner yesterday with some friends and our children, the food was very nice and staff extremely friendly and made sure we had a lovely meal the service was professional.We are planning on coming back soon thank you.

What an absolute shame this hotel has become or maybe the staff have changed and how they are representing the hotel. Last night we booked a luxury room at the hotel and after our meal around half 9 we went back to the room and there was a very loud humming noise almost like a generator. We spoke to the night staff member and she came to our room and agreed that we couldn't stay in that room due to the noise. She moved us to another room by this time just past 10 so we had to get re dressed and move to a lower standard room which we didn't mind at the time as she was so helpful and thought we would now be able to get some sleep and sort it out in the morning. What we didn't expect was the morning reply we got. Now this hotel we got married in a few years ago and it was absolutely brilliant and have been back and we loved this place and now it's an absolute shame that it was somewhere so special to us and has left such a bitter taste. We went to check out and not even an apology even after we explained why we had 2 room keys and the problems we had, still no apology... the best bit we must of spent 1 - 2 hours max as we checked in late in the luxury room before we had to be dragged out to a lower standard room. To our amazement the staff didn't give us as such as an apology and said we had to pay for the higher price as we had stayed in it and the lower standard room was for our benefit..!! I said I would like to complain and apparently Becky the manager wasn't available and there was no management staff available as guests were checking out so no refund or price could be changed but we had to be charged what was on the computer. Such a high standard of hotel with such unprofessional staff..!! We spent 10s of thousands of pounds at our wedding, what a difference our treatment was back then. We no longer have that special place we could go and look back at our beautiful day as we will not be treated like we were when it was the hotels fault and the hotel staff member agreed on just how bad it was then made to pay for their mistake. We didn't want a lower standard room we certainly didn't want to stay in a room which was less money and have to pay the same. We have had no contact from the staff and I find it absolutely disgusting.. they had already took our card details so wasn't like we couldn't even pay. Thank you woodlands staff for ruining somewhere very special to us. I can't even understand what argument you have to still charge us the higher rate. To be honest I was expecting a very apologetic staff and maybe free breakfast for our troubles at least, not tough pay and bye..!! The last thing I expected this morning was an argument over our bill.

Beautiful hotel . We've been there before and Enjoyed the meal, service and the ambiance. This time however, The service was good, the hotel was still beautiful but the meal left a lot to be desired. The chicken liver parfait was just ok.The pan fried Salmon was in some sort of bean , tomatoes and greens concoction.....a real disappointment but in fairness the sticky toffee pudding saved the day.

My friend got married here last weekend (24/11/17). The heating in the marquee had broken the week before and hadn't been fixed so as you can imagine it was freezing! We were sat on table 5 which was the last table to be served food, when our food arrived it was bearly warm. One of the children didn't have a meal so had to wait for a meal to be prepared. They then brought out 2 oil heaters and placed them behind the top table, it was far too cold and everyone was complaining. Once the speeches were done everyone left.

Guests were going to their rooms to get a bath just to warm up, people were scattered around the hotel trying to get warm.

The hotel DJ was 40 minutes late by which time all the eve guests had arrived and were hanging around the reception as we were told we couldn't go into the marquee until the dj had set up!

After 20 mins the electric went off in the marquee, people were running around unplugging the little mobile heaters and checking the electric supply. The manager had left at this point and was not answering his phone leaving his poor staff to deal with cold guests!

I really can't express how cold and fed up we really were at this point, the poor bide and groom really tried to make the most of a horrible situation, once the electicity was back on the cake had been cut and the first dance done guests were leaving or going to their rooms. I decide at this point I didn't want to stay that night, myself and my 5 yr old were so cold I just wanted to go home. My room the previous night was cold when I woke up in the morning and really couldn't face being cold any longer, I asked what the cancellation policy was to be told I would have to pay in full £110 a night and speak to the manager the following day.

The following day when I contacted the hotel there was no manager there, I left my name and contact number and was contacted today (Wednesday) by Nigel!

Nigel said he would like to know why I had cancelled my room. I explained about how cold it was but he wasn't interested, he kept saying but there was nothing wrong with the room other than it being cold, told me I should have asked for another heater putting in my room, but with a 5 yr old I said I felt that wouldn't be very good idea in case she touched it! Nigel was very ignorant had no empathy or customer service skills, he said he was willing to refund me £50 and was very blunt in saying that was all I would get!



I'm really disappointed in the management and their attitudes at this Hotel, I will not be recommending it to anyone.
