Today is #WorldHealthDay! This April marks three years of our Critical Care Team. Since April 2016 we have been flying with a Consultant, 12 hours a day, every day of the year, in addition to two Paramedics from our Nostell airbase. This means we can carry additional drugs as well as being able to perform emergency anaesthesia and life-saving surgical procedures at the scene of an incident 🚁

A huge thank you to Armadillo Storage for their continued support for the YAA and for supplying us with free storage all year round. Without their crucial support, our fundraising teams would have nowhere to keep the merchandise and fundraising tools, which helps raise vital funds for our charity 🚁

#FactFriday The YAA is an independent charity needing to raise £12,000 per day to keep both of Yorkshire’s air ambulances in the air and maintained. This is equivalent to £4.4 million each year.

What a wonderful service from wonderful folk. I am one of thousands who have had the full benifit of this service. The YAA are very modest about what they do. They save lives! A fact is that this lot need only £1 on average a year from every adult of Yorkshire to provide this service. How great is that? ONE POUND! My flight surpassed all my holiday trips on aeroplanes. I had loads of leg room. My own bed. One and one service. The flight even ran well ahead of time. The cost of my first class ticket I hear you ask? NOWT! Yes that's right...They save your life and ask for nothing in return. Worth a quid donating to that. So come on you lovely generous folk of Yorkshire. Let's keep showing off our lovely yellow helicopters of the sky. Put a quid in. Then you can point to the sky and claim "THAT'S MINE!" Because we can proudly say those 2 pretty yellow helicopters belong to all the generous folk of Yorkshire!

User

Thank you so much for today! Hannah’s doing fine, they’re operating on her leg in the morning. We’re all relieved and very very thankful you were there for her xxxxxx

User

Thank you for the amazing response to my wife Jeanette last week, being on scene so quickly and getting her to hospital in such a short amount of time.

You provide an invaluable service to Yorkshire, keep up the incredible work

My dad was hit by a 4x4 on 20 Feb and was attended by YAA. I remember hearing the helicopter then seeing it land on the road whilst at the same time not realising they had come for Pops. They and other services worked on dad at the scene for over an hour. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that if it wasn't for YAA then we would have lost him that day. He still faces a huge uphill journey - but thanks to you he gets to go on that journey. You sent me a fundraiser pack and collection box and we have used it at 3 events so far.

User

My dad 1st had the air ambulance attend him after a really bad crash in his Hgv, luckily they saved his life. Unfortunately 12 months later he collapsed and they attended him again but this time they could not save him. They

Really did do all they could. We are holding a charity night to raise funds for this amazing charity in July. If it was not for their fast response the 1st time we would not have had those precious 12 months more with him. I hold this charity very close to my heart. I only hope we can raise a good amount of money for them.

Impressive work by the skilled members of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance crew who had to land their helicopter in very windy conditions on the side of Little Ingleborough, near Ingleborough Mountain, to rescue a walker who had got into difficulties on 29th May 2018. Just another day for these heroes and another amazing rescue.

A massive thank you to the team who attended my daughter yesterday after a horse riding accident. She was so well cared for by both the land and air team; fortunately on arrival at A&E she was found to have no drastic injuries and is now home somewhat battered and bruised. The benefits of your service are priceless, especially in rural areas, and we the public are so lucky to have access to your amazing knowledge and skills. Thank you again from a very grateful mum.
