Éclat Detailing

Another beautiful Jaguar E-type carefully detailed and protected by Éclat Detailing. I’ve worked on this car three times over the last two years and it’s always a pleasure. It’s had a full restoration at some point and the attention to detail is phenomenal. After what looks like very little use over the last 12 months there were only a few areas that needed any rectification. Some of the work included,
... • A full machine polish to remove light scratches on the roof and boost the gloss on the whole vehicle. • A wipe down with an IPA solution revealed no drop back so two coats of GTechniq Crystal lacquer were applied to help keep it protected. • The wire wheels and chrome work were cleaned and polished. • The engine bay was polished, detailed and protected. • The interior was vacuumed, leather seats cleaned plus conditioned and all the glass was cleaned and polished.

I’ve been looking forward to today’s job which was to polish the freshly painted Stag. The finish I got from the gun was quite good but I wanted a super flat, mirror finish and after a full wet sand and 4 stage polish it’s looking good. I’ve got the boot and bonnet to finish off but so far I’m really happy with it. I can’t wait to see it built up now.

So, as much as I love my detailing, where there are cars involved there’s nothing more satisfying than a full repaint. Fortunately for me, over the last few weeks I’ve been working alongside some very talented guys to help refinish a friends V8 Triumph Stag. My job was to prep, high build prime, block sand and then paint it. I’ll be fully wet sanding and then polishing it next week. 😎

Yesterday’s job was maintenance on this beautiful Jaguar E type. In the past it’s been regularly cleaned and then coated with a clear wax which has done a superb job of protecting the underside. The dirt was starting to build up and as it’s now off the road for winter it was the perfect chance to get it looking fresh again. The first job was to remove the old wax, once this was done I detailed the full underside including suspension and brake components, polished the exhaus...t, cleaned and re greased the hubs and then re applied a clear wax to keep it protected until next winter.

Here is my latest job, a Porsche 911 C4S. Its looking awesome again after a 11hr exterior detail was carried out to get it back to showroom condition.
Work included,
... • A 3 stage machine polish to remove light, wash induced surface scratches. • Headlights were restored and now look like brand new. • The glass was also polished with Carpro Ceri-glass to improve light scratches caused by dirty wiper blades • A few small chips to the front end were also touched in. • The vehicle was then finished off with a coat of GTechniq C1 Crystal lacquer to provide a durable protection as well as a beautiful shine.

My latest job was detailing this beautiful Aston Martin DB9. This car is low mileage and in seriously good condition however there was a small repair on the drivers seat to do, removal of a slight build up of moss in the small gaps around the window rubbers, followed by a thorough detail to everywhere else to leave it looking factory fresh. A coat of high quality sealant was applied to provide a stunning yet durable shine to finish it off. I love the DB9, even more so in th...is colour combination. Is there a cooler car out there for £50k? I’m not sure.

I had the pleasure of working on this tuned BMW M4 yesterday. A full interior detail was carried out plus the carpets and mats were protected with GTechniq Smart fabric protectant. Work on the exterior included a decontamination of the paintwork followed by a 2 stage machine polish to correct and refine the the finish before GTechniq C1 crystal lacquer and EXO V3 paint protection were applied to finish off.

A job from yesterday detailing a gorgeous Triumph TR6. To start with the wheels were removed to get access to clean the arches and suspension components. A combination of degreasing and steam cleaning removed grease, dirt and Waxoyl to reveal beautiful paintwork underneath and only a few small stone chips, which were touched in. The whole vehicle was treated to a single stage machine polish, the paintwork was in great condition to start with, the single stage refinement ha...s just given it that bit of extra gloss to finish it off making it contrast very well with the black tyres and trims. The engine bay like the paintwork was also in great condition so a relatively quick detail was carried out getting into all of the corners. Removing all the light dust and grime before dressing the rubbers and plastics.

I’ve been working late again today but it’s worth it. One of my jobs was detailing this beautifully restored Mk1 Escort Mexico.

After well over 100hrs spent on the latest project it’s now finished and ready for sale. My 1971 Brooklands Green MGB Roadster in undoubtedly the best colour combination they made these in, looks absolutely stunning. After finding this unbelievably solid example with the paint wearing thin and generally needing some TLC l set to work doing the car justice and transforming it into what it is now.

I was so happy to see this beast when I arrived at my job today. The naturally aspirated 4.5 litre V8 engine in this TVR Cerbera produces a massive 420BHP and it sounds amazing, I could definitely live with one of these. I’ve spent approximately 7 hours preparing it ready for sale. It’s had a full valet inside and out and a 3 stage machine polish to remove light swirls/scratches and enhance the paint finish.

One of my latest detailing jobs, this V12 Jaguar E-Type Roadster has been completed today. I’ve spent 3 days on this beauty to restore and refine the overall finish and aesthetics pre sale. The list of detailing work includes engine bay, interior, chrome work, hood and the suspension components. A full machine polish and paint enhancement transformed the paint work, the now stunningly glossy finish really shows off the lines of this iconic classic.

Todays job was this very smart BMW 3 Series. The Melbourne red paintwork needed some minor paint correction and a couple of stone chips touching in to the front end. The paintwork is now looking awesome against the contrasting piano black trims and Veeman alloys. As well as the polishing work its had a full valet and a coat of wax applied to provide protection and a beautiful shine.

The Austin is complete. Some of you will remember I started this Austin 7 project at the beginning of last year. My customer had bought this car complete but it had a bare aluminium finish which was dull, pitted and really needed some tlc. While we were originally going over the car it was obvious that whoever built the body had done a great job and painting it wouldn’t have done it justice. I suggested we polish it up and he agreed. It was a filthy job and it took a lot of... work. There were times when I wondered if I was mad for taking it on but the end result is definitely worth it. It looks magnificent and is a true one off, I’ll remember this job for a long time.

I like to look after my car,I clean it out weekly and get one of the hand wash guys to wash it for me every 2 weeks usually...and I thought I was doing a good job...until now!! After being washed and waxed by Carl,my car looks spectacular. The attention to detail is second to none. My car is gleaming and I'm super impressed with the job Carl has done on it. Had a visit from Carl this morning to tackle my car. 17 years old and definitely seen better days! (The car, not Carl) When I got it 4 months ago there was some damp and mould in it that I gave a surface wipe and other than that it was what you’d expect (needing serious tlc) since I got it my 3 year old has made it look like a hoarde of rabid cavemen have had a mud and crisps party in the back which hasn’t helped the smell...... after what can only be described as a heroic effort on a cold, damp and miserable day, Carl has done an amazing job - it looks clean, it smells clean, and it’s a really thorough, professional job. Could not be happier and would recommend to everyone � child is now banned from the car......

Fab price for cleaning inside and outside my car. Really pleased with results and professional service. Would highly recommend. :-)
