About Artlink Hull

Artlink Hull - visual arts org est 1982. Creative projects, exhibitions, learning and events.

Artlink Hull Description

Artlink Hull enables the creation and exploration of art with, in, and about communities. In particular, we work with individuals and communities experiencing disadvantage to increase the diversity of voices in the arts.

We do this through art commissions, projects, exhibitions, events, learning programmes, and forums, working with a range of communities.

Since our establishment in 1982, Artlink Hull has been continually involved in the development of community, participatory and socially-engaged art practices, and remains a key organisation in the Humber region within these fields.

June 10 marks the opening of our next Spotlight show, ‘Incoherent Blobbying’ by @north_or_nowt . Starting from the recognisable Mr. Blobby, the prints deconstruct and reconstruct the character, metamorphising him into something more akin to his modern day interpretation.

No.44 - Fine Art Degree Show, Hull School of Art and Design
On Friday 31 May, 6-9 pm, Fine Art BA Hons students will open ‘No.44’, their ‘degree show’ exhibition, to the public. Proud to be the 44th group of Fine Artists creating out of Hull School of Art and Designs Queens Garden’s Campus, the No.44 artists have worked hard to make this exhibition a degree show to remember. Between them, these artists work across sculpture, collage, printmaking, installation, sound, painting..., drawing, photography and mixed media. The issues they address include industry, ecology and the environment, the process of making, moments in time, human identity and the juxtaposition between innocence and evil. Everyone is welcome to attend the free Opening Event on Friday 31 May 6-9 pm, at Hull School of Art and Design. The exhibition will then run from 3-19 June opening every weekday, 9 am-5 pm, with late night opening on Mondays and Wednesday till 9 pm.
For more information about the exhibition, access, or the No.44 artists work, visit www.no44artscollective.co.uk

Hello,
Would you mind taking a minute to support Artlink Hull? We are a community arts organisation supporting creativity and the exploration of art in Hull and east Yorkshire. Our main work is providing artistic opportunities to local communities and individuals who are under-represented.
We want to do our part, and that is why YOUR nomination really counts. £1,000 could make a real difference to the work we do.

Artist Julia Vogl did a great job creating works with the residents at Harrison Park, Cecil Gardens and Redwood Glades residential schemes. After workshops over several months, their ideas on what makes a home were turned into seven permanent artworks across the three sites, developed over the course of 'Making It Home as we Go Along'. To find out more, read Julia's blog here: https://www.artlinkhull.co.uk/julia-vogl- making-it-home-as…/
