Another fab ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ trip advisor review... thank you! ‘A lovely warm, welcoming reception greeted myself and my dog as we visited for a quick brew before heading off for the day. Being given a choice of teas was great and the complementary dog biscuits were quickly wolfed down (by the dog, not me). A lovely little gem of a cafe and I'll definitely visit again.’

Another 5* trip advisor review, thank you!! ‘I don’t normally leave reviews but was impressed by this little cafe, I have been to Helmsley several times and tried some of the other cafes all of which are very generic. You are greeted as soon as you arrive the atmosphere and decor is very welcoming even the dog was given a treat. We had lunch, the soup was delicious. The music playing was a mix of jazz and swing and it was a real treat to listen to. Lovely court yard setting I should imagine this is lovely in summer.’

Nice 5* new review on Tripadvisor, thank you very much... ‘I first visited here last November with my dog, and have visited again twice since then. This has become my new favourite place to eat in Helmsley. The food and coffee is lovely, and the dog receives a treat which is usually gobbled up!!’

So we have had our annual hygiene inspection today by Ryedale Council and have kept our level 5 grade yet again! Well done team Barkers!

It is with great sadness we learnt today that our namesake, Mr Anthony Barker has passed away. Barkers Yard is named after the Barkers family, who originally ran an equestrian business here for over 150 years and most recently in Duncombe Park. Anthony did us the honour of officially opening our cafe. He was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by everyone at Barkers.
