Belvedere Cafe

Really enjoy visiting this place. Staff are friendly and helpful and coffee is good value for money. Definitely worth a stopover when considering a walk on the South Promenade

Nice small very friendly cafe good food

I dont usually comment on facebook about things but today i am absolutely fuming. We visited Belvedere Cafe, which is at the end of the promenade next to the orange art sculpture on Bridlington sea front, and bought a latte and bottle of water. My daughter was on the climbing wall and the beach activities, so i left my retired mum sitting at a table outside the cafe as she has a weak knee and didnt want to go on the sand. She finished her water so i went into the cafe again and purchased another drink for her and left her sat at the table. She was probably sat for 45 mins in total and we were nearly ready to go when my mum shouted over to me she had to move. The cafe ower/worker had come out to my eldetly mum and made comments like "im going to charge you rent" and when my mum didnt immediately move he then said "my tables are full i need you to move as you have been sat there long enough." The tables were not full and even if they were how rude. We were paying customers and she still had her drink on the table. My mum moved and went to sit on a stone step. When i commented on how disgusted i was to another staff member she said it wasnt her that had asked her to move and mumbled a sorry, then when i said i would not be using the cafe again i got a shrug and ok. They obviously dont value their customers, big mistake as there are 35 of us that use that beach and have used this cafe in the past, no more !!!!!!!! The cafe next to the park and ride is far superior anyway serving a far wider selection of food and drink and lovely friendly staff. My friend passed the Belvedere cafe after i left and overheard the male staff member who had asked my mum to leave say " well dont worry because we dont need customers like that anyway". I was so mad i went into the park and ride cafe for a drink and told them what had happened and they too were discussed and said they would never dream of asking somone to leave no matter how busy they were. I would like everyone to share this far and wide as we do not need business like this one. Park and ride cafe has far better meal choice and food/drinks and lovely friendly staff. If Belvedere Cafe had been on trip adviser i would have left this rant on there too but funnily enough they are not on there, i wonder why ??. Shame on Belvedere Cafe, please all use PARK and RIDE CAFE from now on as they deserve and appreciate your custom.
