Bessingby Holiday Cottages Description
Bessingby Holiday Cottages are situated in the charming conservation village of Bessingby only 2 miles from the colourful seaside resort of Bridlington with its miles of award winning sandy beaches.
Bessingby Holiday Cottages were originally farm buildings which have been converted to a high standard to provide comfortable, spacious self-catering accommodation. Both cottages are on the ground floor providing easy walking access. Waggoner’s Cottage has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 4 people ( + baby) whilst Shepherd’s Cottage has three bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 5 people and a baby or young child. There's everything you need for a family holiday, a weekend escape in the country, a special occasion, or romantic retreat!
Both cottages are well decorated and furnished with gas central heating. They each have
• fully fitted kitchens with modern appliances, including washing machine and microwave
• flat screen HD TV with Freeview and DVD player
• free WIFI
• all linen and towels provided
• a cot or cot bed and high chair are available on request
• excellent supply of books, DVDs and games suitable for both children and adults
• ample, secure off road parking
• private garden area equipped with barbeque and garden furniture
• shared large grassed play area ideal for football and other family games
• facilities for safe cycle storage
Situated on the heritage East Coast of Yorkshire the cottages make a perfect base to explore the spectacular coastline, the picturesque Hockney’s countryside with the City of Culture 2017, Hull; Scarborough and historic York all less than an hour’s drive away.
We are also cycle friendly, offering secure storage for your bikes. East Yorkshire is a mainly rural area with a vast coastline and wide open countryside where there are plenty of quiet roads and trails to find.

These cottages are home from home, with beautiful well tended gardens,situated in the village of Bessingby. Jan & Andrew have decorated and equipped these cottages to a very high standard, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending these cottages to any one.
Spent 2 weeks staying in Shepherds Cottage and loved every second. Home from home. Everything you need for a comfortable holiday. The best holiday home we've ever stayed in. Andrew and Jan are excellent hosts that are very welcoming and helpful. Loved the little welcome tray to get us started. Kids loved the toys and the outside space. Already booked for next year and counting the weeks! Loved loved loved everything!

Lovely accommodation, set in a lovely village and run by such warm and friendly people. It ticks all the boxes for me.
Just spent a week in Waggoner's cottage - it's fabulous! Andrew and Jan are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and any requests are met with no problem. They made a great holiday even better!! The cottage is cosy with everything you could wish for. Tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished, with a welcome tray and fresh flowers as a lovely surprise. I would recommend this (or it's sister cottage) to everyone. We will definitely be back!! Many thanks!
Just returned from our second stay at Bessingby Cottages (Shepherds Cottage). Beautiful, well presented cottage. Andrew and Jan have thought of everything. Just finishing our stay in Shepherds Cottage, had a fantastic week. Beautiful cottage, everything you need and more. Very welcoming. Kids had plenty of space to play. Minutes drive from Bridlington, but not on top of all the touristy stuff. Would recommend to anyone, and looking forward to staying again.
In a word..brilliant!! Everything you could wish for in a cottage. Can't wait to go back!!
Great place to relax. Such lovely, peaceful surroundings. Everything was provided to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It was so nice to come back to after a good long walk on the beach!
Bessingby holiday cottages are well worth a visit. The owners have put a lot of thought into making them one of the best we have every stopped in! Nothing is too much trouble for the owners, well done Jan & Andrew!
Also worth a visit is an apartment in Glan Conwy over looking the estuary, again you won't be disappointed!
Beautiful cottage ideal for our family of five, plenty of space for children to enjoy. Shepherds cottage has everything you need and more. Can't wait to return. Andrew and Jan are very helpful and friendly.
