Great if you would like to know how you could help in an emergency or brush up on pre-existing skills. We will cover adult and child CPR, how to use a defibrillator and how to help someone who is choking. The sessions are drop in and will be 4 x 30min. Starting every half hour between 2-4pm Friday 22nd February 2019. You could help save a life. A free swim voucher will be given to everyone who comes along.

User

The best pool in York...staff are great it's like my 2nd home luv it!!!

User

Staff are brilliant. Great place to go for swimming and lessons.

User

My favourite one! Always clean & lovely friendly staff. Would be great if you had a creche for children while mums are at the aqua fitness class. Anyway 5 stars from me & my son :-)

User

Just been for first time in 2 years, and I absolutely loved it, so much better than when council ran it, staff extremely helpful and kind, great music that you can actually hear now, so you don’t feel like you’re exercising at all, can’t wait to go back

User

I use to go when I was four years old & it was open air then ! It was brilliant was58 years ago my granddaughters go now & it's very modern up to date clean pool love it

User

Clean, and well looked after. Generally pretty quiet also. Parking can be a nightmare.

As a visitor to York for work I had a lovely reception at the Yearsley pool this morning. Friendly staff on reception and other swimmers. I love that this pool is both preserved as something historic and even better that it's in use, its beautiful to swim in! I am also a fan of the no shoes policy, I'm going to suggest it at my home centre. If there's one thing I'd suggest it would be to publicise pool etiquette (e.g being aware to let faster swimmers past, a bit of a recurring issue in the fast lanes).

User

Aqua combat on a Monday night, so much fun, fab and friendly instructor, would recommend to anyone, thanks

User

Am literally writing the review while my son and husband are in the pool!

Looks like they are having a great time!

A lovely activity for the kids since waterworld closed!

Will definitely make it a regular Sunday thing!

User

I have taken my baby daughter (now 14mo) to Yearsley Pool on several occasions during regular sessions (not baby specific). I find that (although the water is a tad on the cooler side) the facilities are ideal for us, in that, I can take the pushchair into the family changing room and then leave it poolside to keep an eye on. The family changing room has a fold down changing surface and a baby seat, plus a wide bench, which are useful when juggling a wet toddler. Since the pool has never been overly busy during our visits, I feel relaxed enough to take my time getting in and out of the water - which is important for me as a 'new mam' since I'm just getting used to new experiences with a young child. The staff have always been very welcoming too. So, while it's not a 'leisure pool' and may not be appealing to children wanting to play (better for lane swimmers), I've enjoyed the time and space for my little girl to do some kicking and splashing, and to experience the sights and sounds :)

User

Always a good pool to take the Kids and the staff are lovely.....but some of the pensioners who use the pool are rude towards young families who are paying for that full session, even with one pensioner telling my autistic child to shut up because he had a meltdown in the pool and one telling me it's time my kids got out of the pool??!!!

User

A good pool don't feel crowded like you do in Energise.

User

The pool itself is the same as it always was.

The quality of the swimming lessons was very poor. Class sizes too big and the teachers, whilst I'm sure are quite capable, couldn't give enough time and focus to the pupils. By the time they had checked who was there, a good 15 minutes had passed by and they finish the lesson, if you can call it that, 5 minutes early to give the kids time to get out. So a 1 hour lesson was only 40 minutes.

After 12 weeks, my children were actually no better off, with the exception of being a little more confident getting splashed.

A one week intensive course elsewhere meant both my children went from not being able to swim at all to the eldest swimming 70 metres and the youngest almost 100m

I would never use Yearsley for swimming lessons again.

User

Oldish guy with the glasses is not very nice person....apart of it all staff is friendly!

User

Very disappointing! Kids couldn't do anything without getting told not to do so! My youngest boy with arm bands was told he had to be in my arms and not to be swimming alone! Although he was never far from me! How are children supposed to learn the safety of water or learn to swim if they're not allowed to do anything! I understand there are health and safety rules but today it was taken too far! The fun has been taken away from swimming for kids!!

User

Extremely annoyed that my 12 year old son paid to do the egg hunt today and when going to collect his winning eggs they refused him as never signed a form to say he was doing egg hunt!... he paid the same price so surely the receptionist should have asked is he there for open swim or egg hunt?

User

Times doesn't fit for all customers. Pool was not clean on many occasions. Water temperature not right.

User

Nice pool. If you can get in it, there is never anywhere to park.
