Went here today 28/4/18 for a meal,first time,well what can I say,my husband had the home cooked ham,chunky chips,peas,two fried eggs off special board he loved it ate the lot,I had the chicken Kiev,chunky chips,salad,it was soooooo good,loved it,so tasty,I also had dessert lemon meringue,that was fabulous,thank you to the chef for great meals,the waitresses were fab,very nice young ladies,very caring,very attentive,made you feel special,will be coming again next saturday, great atmosphere too,a big thank you to you all for a excellent time,if you haven't been here go,you won't be disappointed,we wasn't.xxxxxx

Went for lunch yesterday with my daughter and grandson food was spot on very tasty well presented staff lovely very attentive brought books and crayons for grandson would definitely recommend it and will definitely be going back xxx

We came on a Sunday for a birthday meal (party of 6). We were thoroughly delighted by the service, the atmosphere and the general feeling of the pub. The choice of food is fantastic, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The price of the food was extremely reasonable, the portion sizes of the meals were very substantial. I can certainly say this will become a regular pub of mine for future meals out.

Was recommended and as told, food was exceptional can’t wait to go back I want too try everything on the menu. Service was great and on a busy night too great for all the family kids also ate all the meals which is a first and says a lot, overall 👍🏻

The food is top notch and so are the staff x thoroughly enjoyed my birthday meal x

Living in Coniston for the last 32 years we have seen many changes at the Blacksmiths Arms. The old pub was beginning to look tired and In need of a refurb.

Over the last year it has certainly had one! The work has been done to a very high standard, a very classy looking place now.

We have been dining here since the reopening and from day one have always been made to feel welcome by the friendly staff, headed by Katrina, who, no matter how busy always comes over to welcome us personally. Her years of experience in the trade is obvious.

The food is outstandingly good from a varied menu with a great selection of starters and many main courses under 10 pounds. Bearing in mind this is restaurant and not run of the mill pub food, excellent value for money.

All in all a wonderful dining experience and right on our doorstep!

Just visited tonight for the 1st time in years after hearing some good reports. The service was attentive and quick, we were seated quickly and menus given. We weren't rushed at all. The menu, while not massive offered plenty of choice. I had the lasagne, my wife ordered the tandoori chicken. Both meals arrived piping hot and were delicious. I would recommend booking as it was very busy and after our experience, we can understand why!

I had my 50th birthday party on Saturday night here and everyone was so helpful with everything. Buffet was amazing, atmosphere was great. Bar staff was excellent and even came in photo booth. Everyone was amazed at the place and the food. Thanks for a great night xxx

Had a lovely wedding anniversary meal, excellent menu with lots of choice, friendly service and the food was scrumptious. I have a friend staying soon so will be taking her for a meal, great excuse to try other meals on the menu.....

Had a fantastic pub meal here! Rump steak with a Diane sauce & sirloin steak burger was fantastic! Sat in the beer garden and enjoyed the evening.

Four of us visited for the 1st time tonight and the rumours were true!

The refurb’ is fabulous, the food is fabulous and the atmosphere and staff were fab’ too. Our friend yearned for a purple gin bottle & was given one ( tho’ we did polish off the last of the designer rhubarb & ginger gin in the bottle! My now new fave drink!)

Word of warning! Go with an appetite, the portions are huge!

Turned up without booking. Big mistake. Now nicely done out. Sat outside was nice. Food average so wouldn’t rave about it. Skillet wasn’t sizzling. Prob would not go again can think of nicer pubs. Summary: average overpriced pub
