Blue Sky Day Nursery in Market Weighton is a family run children’s day nursery. We have a fantastic team of childcare professionals who’s primary goal is to help the children in our care have a lovely time while with us.
Our Promise to you is that “we promise to care for your child as we would our own”, this ethos is carried through every element of Blue Sky and our aim is to treat you, as a parent, as we would want treating ourselves too.
We offer a full range of services for families including crèche, day nursery, pre-school, out of school club and a soft play café.
We are pleased that we are able to offer flexible care which means if you are a teacher you can book for term time only and if you work shifts you can vary your care from week to week. Just sometimes you might need us as a one off and we are happy to accommodate this too even if your not a parent who has used us before we are always pleased to meet new faces.
Children are welcome at Blue Sky from 6 weeks until you no longer need them looking after.
Blue Sky is open Monday to Friday 7. 30 - 6. 30pm for 51 weeks of the year but is closed all bank holidays and for 1 week between Christmas and New Year.

Its been a busy week in the Pixies with lots of fun activities including rice krispie messy play, mark making with pencils and crayons, practising walking skills and lots of chasing, throwing and catching balloons All of this encourages the children's physical development, personal social and emotional skills as well as communication and language
Most of all it encourages the children to have lots of fun!!

This morning the Imps each made a toucan bird out of a paper plate and some paint dabbers, we later painted on a black beak. Ellie drew a tree on the window with some window paints and we now have a lovely window display!
We've had a great time in the Imps this afternoon having a dance and listings to music
Today the Kelpies all had fun making some gluten free green and lemon scented playdough, mixing it all together in pairs. They then made it into dinosaurs, using wooden sticks and goggly eyes. Linking in with their current topic of Dinosaurs.

Last week the Elves and Kelpies went on an adventure to the sea life centre we enjoyed exploring all the different sea animals. (Sorry it's late posting thought it was already posted)
This morning in the Imps the children helped Gerry to plant runner beans and sow seeds. The children took turns in digging a hole and placing a plant in. This helps promote physical development,communication and language and understanding of the world.
Blue sky needs your help We are collecting used felt tip pens so we can recycle them, our collection box can be found in the entrance. If you have any at home please can we have them!
There has been some fantastic building going on in The Pixies room today! The children built high and wide, copying the staff as they called out the colours, counting the blocks as we built before we knocked them down making lots of noise as they crashed! This all encourages the children's physical development, their communication and language as well as personal, social and emotional skills.
The Imps are having a very messy morning doing some painting. What started out as painting paper turned into painting hands which felt very funny!

The Sprites Dalby Forest trip. Such a fun day and the children were so well behaved and a credit to blue sky and their parents! ☺

The bulbs the Imps planted a few weeks ago are doing so well.
Last Wednesday the Imps went on a trip to East park in hull, they had lots of fun exploring and looking at the animals.
It's been a fun packed week in The Pixies We started the week with our cereal farm. Exploring the textures, the sounds the cereal made and hiding the farm animals in it. There was also a lot of tasting the cereal too! We've have real enjoyed being out in the beautiful weather that we have had this week too. Climbing, running, sliding and playing in the sand as well as playing peekaboo in the play house Happy Easter everyone!!!!
