Yesterday was our last workshop in a set of four taking place in Keighley and Bradford City Libraries. We were chosen to be part of a National project created by Professor Simon Kovesi of Oxford Brooke’s University to bring the poetry of John Clare to new audiences. Poet Sarah Corbett expertly lead the sessions and our participants wrote some wonderful poems in response to and inspired by the work of John Clare. Simon Kovesi joined us for the last workshop and said we had Bradford Library Magic. #literature #whatlibrariesdo

Bradford Gig Buddies Talk
Gig Buddies matches people with a learning disability with a volunteer, based on a common interest or shared love for similar activities. For example, seeing live music, going to the theatre or socialising at your local pub quiz.
We are currently looking for people with learning disabilities who may be interested in the project and may like a Gig Buddy or volunteer and volunteers that want to take part.

We had a lovely special ‘writers’ session in Keighley library today with R C Bridgestock Bridgestock. We had writing and publishing tips and learnt that getting a book published and being taken on by an agent is a combination of talent, luck and pure hard work! 😍📚
