Picnic in a bag now here,£8.95pp, Choose a sandwich on white/whole meal bread, a packet of pipers crisps, a drink from the selection of bottle green, coke/Diet Coke, tea or an americano, large scone with butter and jam ( choose from our daily selection) add a pot of clotted cream for an extra £1. A knife napkin, a straw will all be included in the picnic bag. A selection of cakes are available at the counter if you wish to add onto your order ( prices vary)

I can't praise Nikki enough for her desire to give her customers what they want and for going the extra mile. She made an amazing birthday cake for my daughter with just two day's notice! It made her birthday seeing Nikki walking downstairs with it. She had such a nice time she decided to take her friends for afternoon tea for her party. They had a great time and were made to feel like royalty by the staff. Thank you all!



I've noticed a couple of negative reviews, particularly about the cafe being busy on a Saturday. Of course it is - it's lovely and it's popular! Get a life people - who anointed you next in line to the thrown so that world has to stop to ensure you get the service you think you deserve? The staff run around like the proverbial fly with a blue derrière - give them the credit they deserve!

We had an amazing time here after our wedding on Friday, the decorations were beautiful as was the food and the value is so good. Nikki and the rest of the staff could not have been more amazing! Thank you so much for everything - even organising it was made really easy and Nikki is so helpful and nice. Cannot recommend enough!!!!

We had a wonderful time for afternoon tea for my sister's baby shower. Staff were very friendly and the food and cakes are delicious!!!! Liz was extremely helpful in organising the party. Thank you x

Visited the tea rooms yesterday with my nephew, his wife and my great nephew. The cakes were delicious. We tried the coffee and pecan cake, lemon cake and battenburg.Everyone was very friendly and they were happy for my great nephew to toddle around the cafe, play with the toys and books. We had a fabulous time.

Visited on Wednesday 21st February 2018. Party of 5 adults with a young child and a very young child. The service and food was excellent. Really nice staff and books, toys and crayons were on hand to amuse the young ones. Highly recommended.

Myself and a friend went with two young ladies in wheelchairs and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. They went out if their way to make our visit a lovely one. The food was delicious. My friend and I had an afternoon tea for two, which was beautifully presented and was three tiers full. There was so much we had to take most of our cakes home!!! Thank you so much xx HIGHLY RECOMMENDED xx

The whole experience was lovely! Calming and relaxing atmosphere, really scrumptious food and filled us for the day! (Ate at 1)

Will definately return and purchase as a gift for others! Xx

Me and my friends visited here yesterday (Saturday 7th may) I have to say - it's the best afternoon tea I've ever had! All the cake was amazing!!! And I love the fact you can choose which sandwiches you want - which is good for anyone that's a little fussy - I have allergies and they were very good and professional dealing with them! I'd highly recommend and I will definitely be coming back.

Me & my mum stumbled across here today, and what a find it is! Gorgeous place, excellent food and drinks and just a lovely atmosphere! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They made such a fuss over my little girl and provided her with toys and books. Soooo much choice of cakes - we had a cheese scone, and tried the Victoria sponge & jam tart - delicious!! Will definitely be back soon! Thank You!!x

I’ve been here a few times and have loved each and every visit. Yesterday, my best friend held my baby shower here along with 9 of my friends and family and it was again, absolutely wonderful. The cakes and food are always fresh and delicious and the atmosphere is always spot on. It was such a lovely afternoon and the staff bend over backwards to make sure everyone is happy. We ended up coming away with boxes and bags full of cakes and sandwiches for later too. Thanks again to all of the staff for their efforts. I will be returning once my baby has made an arrival as these tea rooms are also very child-friendly! 10/10!

I tried a gluten free brownie and tasted just as good as the normal I also nip in for a coffee and a chat me and my friend meet their such a lovely shop and the staff as so friendly and welcoming it really is a nice little tea room ��

Fabulous afternoon tea today to celebrate the start of my maternity leave. Delicious and generous servings of tasty fresh sandwiches, scones and a super selection of cakes. So much food we had to each take a doggy bag home with us!! A wonderful afternoon and a gem of a find ��

After our little girl had an accident yesterday she asked if she could go for tea and cake as a treat. Cakes d’licious were recommended by a number of people so we booked a table. When we spoke with the staff on the phone they were very lovely and very helpful! We turned up to the wonderful atmosphere and were seated. We had 3 afternoon teas and a children’s jam sandwich. Every bit of detail was just fantastic! The tea is gorgeous, the sandwiches are delicious! The scones were to die for � and the cakes are amazing! For the price it is fantastic, we came home with a box full of cake and were all lovely and full. Staff were all lovely and the whole place was just so welcoming. We will most certainly be visiting again! Fantastic! Thank you all so much. You cheered our little girl up no end!

Lovely atmosphere here, nice vintage decor. I am a little late in writing this review, enjoyed afternoon tea here with friends a few months ago. Two of our group are vegan, I called to book a couple of weeks in advance and to check whether they offered vegan options as this wasn't on their menu, but they were very accommodating and we really enjoyed the afternoon tea. The flapjack was my favourite!

Exceptional afternoon tea ,better than a lot of the top Hotels in York .

Went here for a hen party. Staff were lovely and really helpful, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. I am going to be recommending Cake D’licious to everyone I know.
