Cherry Blossom Cakes

Huge congratulations to Jasmine and Terence! They married last Friday and celebrated with friends and family at Waterton Park Hotel. A big cake was a must, so they chose a six tier cake with buttercream finish, cascade of beautiful fresh flowers (from Flowers by Kay, arranged by us) and some gold brush strokes for a modern twist. Delicious flavours included a custom Pimms tier, Zesty orange, Victoria sponge, Chocolate and Lemon & Raspberry! For peckish guests, there were almond and cherry macarons, vanilla cupcakes and lemon shortbreads. Beautiful food labels were made by Splendid Signs (although I forgot to put them out before taking the picture! Hopefully, photos to follow). Can't wait to see the professional pics from Stu Ganderton.

Good morning! We're at The Roundhouse Derby today helping Oski's at the Fabulous Places event 10am-4pm. It was fantastic yesterday with over 100 beautifully curated home, gift and food stands. There will be lots of chocolate, cake jars and brownies - plain to take away or go fully loaded for an indulgent treat. We'll be doing some Christmas shopping and supporting independent makers and creators x

We're planning a Christmas Do on Tuesday 11th December, 5-8pm. It's open to all wedding suppliers - come along for a natter and some free cake :) If suppliers could tag/invite other suppliers, that would be great. Then please respond on the event page if you're coming, so we have an idea of how much cake to bake! x

Our window display ready for Rememberance Sunday. We've used 36 poppies to represent the 36 Bawtry soldiers who lost their lives in World War One.
After this was taken, we switched the Happy Birthday card to a '100' card but it's dark outside now and there's a lot of reflections from passing cars! x

We've been chatting to a few couples at consultations and wedding fairs recently about having personal touches at your wedding: Your guests should know it's your wedding (not just a Pinterest wedding :)). Here's a little piece from our wedding... We asked guests to sketch themselves but didn't explain why. Afterwards, we scanned them and made this tea towel to post out with Thank You cards. It's a fun memento and ties in with my baking and the tea towels we have from primary school. What personal touches did you do/are planning to do at your wedding? x

For those loving the Tudor cake I posted recently, here's a throwback to a different take on a chocolate cake. We created this white chocolate cake with a few sparkles, for Karen and Paul - perfect for a winter wedding! Loved the styling with the dresser mirrors too x

We’d planned our wedding like a military operation, every last detail was prepared for and seen through to the end. So, true to form, about a year in advance we chose Charlotte to make our cake as she totally understood what we were after, was super friendly and quoted what we felt was a very reasonable price.

With a few emails in between our initial meeting and the big day I’d ticked off the cake from my to do list and confidently left it TOTALLY up to Charlotte to deliver the cake on time and I didn’t give it a second thought until 8:30pm on my wedding day when it was time to cut the cake!!

I’d totally forgot to check that she could access the venue, knew where to display the cake and add the fresh flowers that had been left at the venue in a Tupperware! All our planning and I still managed to forget last minor details, but it didn’t matter at all, Charlotte got into the venue, decorated the cake beautifully and exactly how we’d asked.....a year earlier AND most importantly it was absolutely delicious!

The cake lasted a week, a trip to Scotland for our mini moon and was very much enjoyed!

Well there's only 5 stars to give but I wish I could give you more. We found Cherry Blossom Cakes at a wedding fare at Doddington Hall in early 2016. I had some very specific ideas about silver leaf work on our wedding cake and immediately was shown examples of where Charlotte had done this before.

I was given a little bag to take home which contained some samples (this was great as my partner was board of being dragged around wedding fares so didn't come). After going home and tasting the samples we booked a consultation with Charlotte and she turned my ideas into a brilliant sketch. My partners favourite part of planning the whole wedding was this consultation where we tried the cakes!



Although your cakes look amazing they taste fantastic! Many other bakers we had found either tasted great and looked ok or looked great and tasted ok......... you get fantastic looking and tasting cake from Charlotte!



Our wedding cake got snapped up by the guests but we did get a coupe of slices which we enjoyed the day after the wedding and one of the bridesmaids kindly gave me her bit as it was my favourite (lemon and raspberry!) Delicious as I know your cakes always are.

My husband also collected some cakes in jars for our pudding last night after a family meal, and they were also superb. What fab little ideas. If you haven't already tried them, get yourselves some cupcakes and jar cakes. The marshmallow and chocolate orange flavours are my particular faves.

I first sampled Cherry Blossom Cakes’ delights at a wedding fair a few years ago and knew that if I ever got married that they had to feature somehow in my day. Charlotte did a fabulous job of making shortbread favours for our guests that were stamped with our initials and the date of our wedding. Communication was excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them. X

I contacted Charlotte for a 70th Birthday cake and it was amazing! Not only did it look stunning, it tasted beautiful. My mum actually cried when it turned up!

Charlotte made the wedding cake for my wedding on Thursday. As one of the first things I booked I had a clear vision of exactly what I wanted and she did not disappoint. The cake was a hand painted masterpiece which I loved and everyone commented on how beautiful it was! It also tasted delicious. I could not recommend Charlotte more. The wood grain effect was something Charlotte hadn't seen before and I went to her with a photo just assuming it will be simple enough. After months of perseverance, stalking Martha Stuart's Instagram and tracking down a cake maker in the states, Charlotte managed to find out how the effect was done on the photo I showed her and managed to recreate it for our beautiful cake! The service from start to finish was second to none and I cannot recommend her enough!

Charlotte has made us an absolutely breath taking bespoke cake! Excellent service right from the moment we walked into the shop right up until the delivery at our venue! Thank you so much! �

Charlotte did an incredible job for our wedding cake and dessert table. We asked an awful lot of her especially as we had a Paris themed wedding but Charlotte was prepared for everything. The treats she made were delicious especially the Turkish delights, coffee cakes and macarons. Every guest raved about them and the service could not have been more thorough or personalised. Thanks for making sure a big part of our wedding perfect!!

Charlotte created 3 amazing wedding cakes for our special day, all the flavours were unique and tasted amazing on the night, so much so there was nothing left to take home the next day! Thankyou again
