City Park, Bradford Description

City Park is Bradford Council's brilliant high-tech water feature, the largest of its kind in the UK.

City Park has many moods.

It can be a cool, tranquil and misty space, a huge, reflective watery mirror, a bubbling, squirting, popping and splashing fountain display, a brilliantly lit aqueous interactive laser artwork or a thunderous water spout, shooting over 30 metres into the air.

The Park’s computer plays 100 fountains, laser lights, mist and water effects like a maestro conducting a glorious watery symphony.

Millions of different combinations of effects can be produced.

City Park is a great place to relax, meet friends or family and enjoy a breath of fresh air.

Nicely captured.

We are constantly impressed by the creativity and quality of photographs taken of City Park. This one by Neil Terry Photography is particularly good.

It's that time of year again - City Park's fountains automatically shut down when temperatures approach 0C in order to prevent ice.

Don't miss the fantastic nocturnal mini-festival, Illuminate Bradford in City Park this autumn.

Wish it was longer than a weekend and more publicly should of been done around Yorkshire. It was just brillant, so peaceful but there must of been hundreds coming and going. Plus lots of space for everyone to take photo's.

I told all the family to go on the Sunday

User

Was really good, only complaint is the light show should have been on for more than a weekend, great atmos. The kids rides would have been better in the main part instead of cramped streets but really good experience.

User

Visited for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Well-designed open space for use by the public and for events. Top location for start of Tour de Yorkshire Stage 3.

User

This is the best decision to make this water area that Bradford city council has ever done, in warm weather it really brings the community of Bradford together no matter what your background everyone comes together and has fun

User

Lovely, well designed modern outdoor space for all generations to use...love the day& night water features and the ample seating levels. Surrounded by restaurants and eating areas it gives it a continental cafe feel.. A credit to Bradford and it's planners.

User

Lovely place to be on a hot day, kid loved it as well. Nice vibe. Very friendly, was clean and felt safe. Best bit of Council planning and spending in a long time.

User

Lovely arty shimmery love lights, all well and good however apart from pubs and restaurants there was nowhere open to get a coffee, cake, icecream. So the business owners of the fshnchps shop could've stayed open? Starbucks even? They'd've made a killing; no business sense at all....

User

Love City Park any day, but the atmosphere of the Tour de Yorkshire event was unbelievable! Fab place to meet people and enjoy the buzz and excitement!

User

I went to see Bradford Theatres launch their new season with Joey the War Horse meeting Joey & Seth the wy police horses. City Park is such a brilliant space for public events. Central location with good amenities.

User

Great park! Bit wet. :P

User

Great for paddling in the summer, admiring the laser animations and fountain lighting after dark (perfect for when it's too cold to paddle) and surrounded by good cafés and coffee places.

User

really enjoyable my two youngest enjoyed them self in the fountains and the fair that was there , they liked the elephant things was made that was been moved bye the sticks and the people who was dressed up had a lovely day out was happy I went lovely weather too 🖒🌞

User

great night at the xmas lights turn on. Pity the fireworks were cancelled. And we seemed to be missing a tree . However great to see Bradford so busy, pity the shops didnt stay open later. It would of brought some well needed revenue in

User

We thoroughly enjoyed yesterday's event with the vintage cars and the open day at City Hall. Only shame was not being able to see the council chamber which has featured on tv. Additional shade for those using the mirror pool would be good. It has had the desired effect of bringing more families into the centre of city

User

Not from here but live in Bradford, work in Bradford, brought children up in Bradford; work in education and am desperate to see the place rebuild itself and be successful. This was a great event, very mixed crowd, both ethnically and socially and City Park....well I just think it was a genius, brave decision to build. Some shortsighted criticism at time.....absolutely money well spent. Keep it up.

User

Nice place with enjoyable pubs and clubs in sunbridge wells also a friendly enviroment for kids around the lake , if you record yourself running a certain way it looks like your running on water ... imagine lol

User

Lovely place to sit and enjoy different things, city park is great for the people of Bradford and visitors alike

User

Not as good as last year, where were the face painters, the dressing up, not enough bouncy castles, should of been two of everything to help cut down the queues for the climbing apparatus etc, bit disappointed really

User

Wonder why they not showing match. O thats right, No muslim teams in it still
