Wow. We were staying in the hotel but hadn't reserved a table. We managed to get a table for 2. So glad they could fit us in. The food was incredible, the staff were absolutely amazing, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Portion sizes were plentiful. You get a lot for your money. Lots of choices. Breakfast the next morning was also fantastic. Highly recommend this place to everyone. We will be visiting again. Thankyou to Chantelle who looked after us.

We have been twice now with the family and had great service, very friendly.. the food was lovely and well presented and a decent size portion. The menu is varied with plenty to choose from. It feels fresh and modern with a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it.

We ate here this evening, as we are here on holiday, and staying at the adjoining premier inn. The food and service was absolutely fantastic, although some items weren’t available we were quickly informed and offered alternatives.

We unfortunately experienced an extremely rude man, who was also dining at the restaurant. This man thought it was necessary to shout at a member of our group about her child who was a little upset. As this is a family restaurant, you’d expect children to be a little noisy. It was so uncalled for and nasty that my friend was very emotional.

The waitress and manager were amazing! Offered to move us, were very apologetic even though this was not their fault in any way. We cannot thank them enough for their very kind words.

Well done cookhouse and pub for managing an intense situation.

Visited yesterday with my mum and 2 year old son. We all really enjoyed our meals. Great staff, very efficient and helpful. The manager quickly dealt with a little problem we had regarding one of our meals. We left happy, with full tummies. Will definitely visit again and recommend to others. Thank you :)

Visited Cookhouse and Pub yesterday and all I can say is superb. We had booked a family meal to celebrate a birthday and we wasn't let down one little but. Fantastic service, fantastic food and fantastic prices. Our waitress Stacie was friendly and efficient, the place was busy yet we only were waiting around 15 minutes from ordering to eating and what we had (all different meals) were all spot on. We shall definitely be visiting really soon. Keep up this high quality :-) :-)

Popped in for lunch on Sunday - we were early so it was not busy and were sat and served very quickly- I had the steak and ale suet pudding - it was superb onion rings as an extra - lovely and fresh and crunchy was heaving by the time we left - lovely atmosphere will be visiting again !

Had an evening meal here. Booked the table online then wanted to add two people so rang up and spoke to Ben who was very helpful and accomadating. The food was lovely and the kids were given veg sticks which helped keep them quiet. Overall a great experience and will be back.

User

Been today with my mum and I personally loved it. The service was fantastic from start to finish. The food was well cooked and beautiful I even had a dessert which was to die for. And last the price was very reasonable even before the voucher off. Will see be back again

We had a casual meal for our family and every body seemed to enjoy the food , small sharer plates the pie and our boys had hot dogs with sides , the wine was nice and well priced for New Zealand Sav. Our server Kathryn? Was good and was helpful when a “picky boy”wouldn’t have bits in his juice !! My only disappointment and I suppose it couldn’t be helped but we were seated next to an extremely noisy family who had a screaming toddler our boys are old enough to behave so we could have sat elsewhere and then one of the party went outside and urinated in the car park, a grown man right in front of the diners . All in all it was nice and we will be returning hopefully to a better table .

Had a lovely meal there, good food & good service.

My only complaint it the smoking area is literally out side the main door!!

I’ve not got a problem with people smoking!

I just don’t want it in my face as soon has I walk out the door.

My husband and I like this place mainly because it has a fairly contemporary type of menu from the other restaurants in Bridlington. Unfortunately it has been opened only a couple of months and already the cracks are showing. Service on Friday night was really poor. We had to wait for drinks to be taken and then remind them for the said drinks. My C&P Salad with a minute steak was ordinary. It was tough and tasteless, rare one end and well done on the other. Mustard wasn't offered and the bottle of vinegar for my husband's chips was empty. No drinking water was offered which I think should automatically have come to the table anyway. This was a really ordinary experience.

Bit of a wait but all the food came out together which was good. The boys enjoyed their fish, chips & mushy peas & the girls liked their burgers & sweet potato fries. However, there isn't enough on the menu for vegetarians. I had a root vegetable tart with mash & seasonal veg' . The tart was a little burned on top & barely any filling, mostly onion. The mash was a little conjealed around the edges. Having said that, the place has only been open 3 months & the staff were very accommodating & open to suggestions about the menu.

Well we arrived at the pub saw 2 signs one said cookhouse carpark the other for the hotel. We parked in the pub spaces went into the building. First impressions it looked very nice. We stood waiting to be seated for five mins then asked a waitress who said we were stood at the wrong point. Apparantly the big sign saying let us seat you, is not where we needed to be. So we went 2 metres forward and stood and waited there instead.

5 more minutes later a lady came over and took us to the till to pay for a breakfast. We had not even been seated nor seen a menu. She asked well have you not looked at our menu online????????? Well i must appologise that i had not done this. Next time im out i shall make sure i dont put any eating establishments to the trouble of providing me with an actual menu. How silly of me.

So we were shown a menu and we chose. To then be asked if we had a parking ticket for our car ? Now im pretty sure it states the car park is for the pub. Big sign that shows that. She went on to explain we need to buy a ticket from the machine as the carpark is not theirs but they would knock 2 pound of the meal

cost. Now had she not said this i would of probably got a ticket as the carpark does not clearly state this. All this is alot of effort for something that is supposed to be relaxing. At this point we left. We shall not return. Absolute shame such promise to be delivered with ridiculous procedure poor signage inside and out. Under staffed. Shall use one of the many other better alternatives. If i could award no star i would.

We pre-booked as was our first visit. We ordered the same three sharing plates each. As an after thought, asked for garlic bread as the lovely waitress recommend. When our bill arrived, we were charged for a more expensive sharing plate rather than the garlic bread. The manager failed to resolve the situation saying that is how the till works. Left feeling ripped off and that the manager undid all the good work of the other staff

Very confused turning up on Monday teatime, you had about 6 customers, it was pouring with rain and Brid looked like a ghost town yet was told you were fully booked. You had more staff on than customers? We’re u expecting a coach full of customers to arrive in the next 10 minutes? Also a sign outside to let people know you are fully booked might prevent paying unnecessary parking charges, especially when you look completely empty!

If i could i would give this place no stars at all it was disgusting. Me and my husband went in today for a late lunch as we had never been before and i can assure you we will never be going again!!!! I ordered the chicken and bacon flat bread but without bacon and extra egg and my husband ordered the giant haddock and chips with mushy peas. Needless to say it was a disaster the menu never mentioned that the flat breads lettuce comes coated in mayo (this makes me ill) and doesnt say that the fish comes with skin (like a lot of people both me and my husband hate skin and bones in fish) and the chicken was cold greasy and been left in the fridge too long hadnt even been warmed up to room temp. Needless to say we walked out without paying after the waiting staff consulted a manager for our meal or drink but neither of us ate them anyway so what a waste of time. We are now starving and everywhere is packed so thank you cook house NEVER AGAIN !!!!!

Given the location, the modern interiors and exteriors my mum and i were excited to dine here on the last night of our holiday....I wish i had dined at the local fish and chip shop!!!!

We reserved a table for 2 and arrived earlier than the booking which wasn't a problem for the team...we were shown to our table an presented with the specials and drinks menu....unfortunately it all went down hill from there.... It took over 15 minutes for someone to come and take our drinks order, by which point we were also ready to order food. It then took a further 15 minutes for our drinks (a coke and a breakfast tea) to arrive then 2 mins later our food arrived.

My meal - i ordered chicken which comes with salad, chips and garlic bread. My chicken was so overdone i almost broke the plate and knife trying to cut it. The salad was plentiful if you like rocket and nothing else! The chips/fries were cold and soaked in oil. I left half my meal!

My mum's meal - one of the variety of specials - the fish pie...was piping hot served in a skillet with an overcrowded side of broccoli..... mum said it was delicious until she spent all night in the bathroom of our hotel seeing it in reverse!!!!!

Meal done, we decided to get my dad a takeout as he had overdone it that day and was suffering with his COPD & Emphysema so couldn't eat with us that night. We asked if they could do him a burger and chips/fries in a takeout box. They did - this was the only possibility of redemption because "awww how sweet of them" Hmmmmm..... again the chips/fries were swimming in grease and the burger contained more lettuce than burger!!

Now to pay.....HAHAHA - Thats a JOKE!!!!! 35 minutes after we requested our bill AND received the take out for my dad. THREE TIMES after we chased for the bill did the server arrive with our bill....

I would never eat here again and nor would i recommend this place to anyone. This is the sort of place which will continue to turn a profit due to convenience and location. Not because of service, value and quality!!! Disgraceful....

User

First visit wasn’t great after waiting ages for a simple drinks order, the food arrived first and wasn’t very good.

Second visit, didn’t even get in! A dozen empty tables but none available. Didn’t appear to be busy and staff were stood around chatting.

Wouldn’t recommend but if you do go, book a table in advance.
