Well in Cumbria its still green and we have some of that wet stuff occasionally in the sky with temperatures a lot cooler at 20C! Well it is the Lake District. Fabulous walk in the Howgills today. Start at Carlingill Bridge (CA10 3XX) and then a beautiful walk up the river following Carlin Gill to 'The Spout', a hidden gem. Returning back over Fell Head with views towards Morecambe and the Eastern Lake District Fells. Had the place to ourselves. Stunning!

25 years of Potfest at Hutton in the forest just outside of Penrith. Over 100 artists displaying their ceramics over 3 days. Great day out and accessible from Shepherds View barn.

The cooling waters in Borrowdale, one of our favourite spots to take a dip in. Crystal clear .

Would recommend this walk up to Skiddaw- start the walk from Bassenthwaite .

Struggling in the heatwave? Why not go somewhere that is warm, but not stifling, where the views are stunning. Cumbria has it all! Today views from Skiddaw only 40 mins from Shepherds View and a fabulous day out.

Busy weekend- Penrith on a plate and Art in the hills at Dufton village hall . Great time to book same time next year.

Well worth a walk (cycle/run) up to High cup Nick. Walk from Shepherds View barn without the need to drive anywhere to enjoy the amazing scenery this delight has to offer. Relax afterwards in the comfort of our 5 star gold facilities.

For the more energetic of our guests we have safe storage for your bikes and somewhere to wash your muddy boots.

Lovely walk up Murton Pike - big sister to Dufton Pike - and with a different perspective of the Eden Valley. Much more gentle route up and home and hosed in an hour and half. Park at the bottom in the car park at the top end of the village of Murton.
