Gamebore technician David Upton began at a very early age. This photo was taken by Shooting Times photographer Roy Shaw in 1968 when David was 11. He’s still a keen wildfowler and can often be found on the foreshore. He’s also a very talented wildlife artist.

from super game to black gold.... never had an issue with gamebore. My cartridge of choice.

With the current massive problem with plastic, is it time for the big cartridge manufacturers like gamebore, to make an AFFORDABLE cartridge with a biodegradable wad ?

Just switching to a new cartridge manufacturer and bought a slab of white gold .... what a fantastic cartridge smooth clean and smashing everything well done gamebore:)

Just swapped to Gamebore Black Gold absolutely brilliant long range ducks on windy Irish Loughs dead in the air , amazing stopping power and as I said the main thing I like so much is that when the spaniels make the retrieve 99% of the time the bird is dead as I hate losing birds on these testing waters due to inferior cartridges , cant wait for the woodcock with Black Gold no 9's

I've used most of the range and always been impressed. Clays, pigeon and game cartridges, great price, great quality. Even used the xtream game from just cartridges love them all.

I had some issues with some carts, phoned Gamebore and they replaced what I had left for a new full slab of black gold. It was sorted out straight away with no hassle. Thankyou Gamebore top class service

This cartridge never let me down! They really are the ultimate performance any shooter can get!

Black Gold are the best competition cartridge on the market nothing comes close. Shot a 94 at Sporting targets a few weeks back in the wind. If your serious about improving your scores I'd recommend trying black golds.

As someone in the gun trade I find the branding and quality of these cartridges a joy to sell and shoot.



Our customers that shoot them are very brand loyal due to the performance of the cartridges. Two of our staff shoot exclusively shoot White Gold for competition and black gold for game.

3.5" Mammoth 42g 3,s are without doubt the best in my book for 12g foreshore shooting.

im a semi pro pestcontroller and use semi autos only , i only use gamebore pigion, 12g 32no6 fibers wads , 12g 42no 3 and mammoth steel 42no 3 for all my pestcontrol work , either , pigions,crows ,rabbits ,fox ,geese , the cartiages are very good , not expensive and i buy them at my local gun shop in Sheffield , another thing is as im a semi auto user the 70mmm /23/4 shells suit my weapons and very rarely jam , i use over 10k shells a year and happy with them , my only GRIPE ? is that pigion extreme shells are only in pilstic wad , i only use fiber wads over crops and on farm land , please game bore , fiber wards on pigion extreeme 34 no 5 ?, good ammo , happy man , mr p

Thanks to Gamebore Cartridges, 3 personal best's in 15 days. First ever 25 straight at Sport Trap, first ever 50 straight at ESK BO Bisley and first time I have broken the eighty barrier in ESP 81 at Barrow Heath yesterday.

I have been using some local gun shop own brand cartridges made by Gamebore and they have been great - fast, low recoil and consistent patterns - however I used the last of my Elite DTL last Saturday and they were really poor - so many slow and inconsistent firings and some which felt as if the pellets were simply dropping out of the end of the barrels - I have had 2000 of them now in both 7.5 and 8 and wont be buying any more - considering the price the "velocity" were great by comparison - shame as they really look the part and when they work give super fast and hard breaks - Really happy with the own Brand ones though
