Went with the family on opening day, and we struggled to find things to moan about, haha! The food was great, and compared to other pub food alternatives, this was way above what we've had before. Quality of food was brilliant, and staff were friendly, enthusiastic, and dedicated to making our meal enjoyable. We'll definitely be visiting again.

This pub is lovely, the food is first class!!! The staff couldn't be nicer an were so helpful. Top class guys....doing a great job

Right than guys it's well past time I got this off my chest, your food is too good, your venue is too nice, your beer is practically perfect and for the love of all that's good in the world stop your staff from smiling so much and being so polite....



I'm British and I like having something to whine and fuss over and your making it too bloody difficult to find something to complain about ;)

Refurb looking fab and loving the new menu. Great to see the place buzzing,we'll be back.

Place looks amazing and the new menus are fab including the cocktails!!!

In love with the new look of this pub!! The back bar looks so fresh and vibrant, with the front keeping traditional and homely. The new food menu is great quality for pub grub and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Great place to chill and have a couple with your friends. Highly recommended.

Great pub, great food and excellent friendly service. We will return.

Friendly local with a good sports atmosphere & family friendly also. Good choice of food & drinks on the menu which is value for money! Majority of the staff are also very lovely & welcoming.

Food was absolutely beautiful and came so quickly! Staff are very friendly and attentive, and I don’t know what they do to the coleslaw but it’s the best I’ve ever tasted 😂

First time in since the refurb, and I must say it was well worth waiting for, it all looks amazing, the food was great, and the staff was very friendly, if you haven’t been yet I would recommend it

Brilliant warm and welcoming local pub. Good value for great choice of menu. Good daily meal and drink deals make it very a fordable to treat the family.

Best pub ever! An amazing place! Great food and drink and very cheap! Staff are always friendly and the place is always busy! Great music on the jukebox. Me and my friends are always here and enjoy the great atmosphere!

I've been going to gardeners for years, as a student I used to spend many hours there. I came back to Hull this weekend for a reunion and of course a visit here was necessary. The bar has had a complete face lift, a little too hipster for my tastes but it does look modern and fresh. Staff were friendly and had good drinks knowledge, however I was completely let down by the fact that I went to order a breakfast to be told the kitchen was closed due to them being too busy, the pub wasn't even a third full so I dread to think how they'd cope on a busy day. Even worse than that we heard that the kitchen had reopened and went to reorder to be told the kitchen was shut again as they'd just had a group of 20 turn up, surely we should have been given priority over these as we'd been there longer and half of our group already had or were waiting on food. When they closed the kitchen they should have taken note of what tables people were sat at when they were enquiring about food and as soon as the kitchen reopened those tables should have been informed by staff and given priority to order next. Instead we ended up with half of our group not being able to order food. Certainly not the best service experience I have had at gardeners, clearly more kitchen staff are needed on a Sunday lunch time, hopefully these are just teething problems that will be ironed out in the next few weeks as I can't fault the quality of your food and drink and your staff are lovely.

I feel sorry for the security team, not sure if it’s under new management or they have new bouncers but the men’s toilets gonna need a sniffer dog.



New food menu looks nice and the front bar is still great, however the back bars lost all its character.

Menu sounded really nice however the food was rubbish! So so dry, chips like they had been sat there all morning. Did not fill sauces so had to ask at the bar. And food took forever to come even though it wasn't busy. It's like the chef didn't care and just bashed whatever out on a plate. Such a shame, food used to be nice! On the plus side staff are friendly behind the bar.

Eaten here before and wasn't bad but not this time. Menu seems to have had a price hike since the refurb. Brother tried to order food to be told twice they didn't have what he asked for not once but twice so he gave up and didn't eat. Burger didn't come with onion rings or coleslaw had to question it with the bar staff who informed us they'd run out of coleslaw but would send some onion rings to our table. Food was poor quality too definitely not worth the money! Won't be eating here again!
