We actually made a point of visiting Gear4Music today as part of our holiday to York having bought equipment from them before via mail order. My boys both love music and relished the chance to try a vast array of choice of both drums and guitars. It was just wonderful to pick up whatever we fancied with no hint of the hard sell or intimidation. There were drum sticks left out for you to pick up and try drums of huge value with no air of staff hovering. I myself tried a couple of basses which I've never felt comfortable doing in public but the store assistant was so pleasant and just left me to plitter to my heart's desire. I can't fault this shop, a real pure music emporium full of wondrous delights!

It is a huge store, a musicians paradise, no pushy salesmen just very helpful and informative staff, everything is set out to see and try out.

Recently got a new P.A. system, tried it out for two hours in a room on my own, no hassle, A wonderful place. easy private parking & sales staff carry it all out to your car.

Have used g4m many times. Whether it is in store or online I have been pleased with the service and items.

When I have had to contact them due to me accidentally ordering the wrong item, they sent out a replacement.

From spending just a few pounds to several hundred, I am so far a happy customer.

Gear4music have been consistently helpful with regards to all my queries, I honestly can't fault them. I've also called them a couple of times and found their staff to be patient, informative and helpful. They're my go-to online music shop!

As a new musician (first guitar in August 2017), I have only ever used G4M - and that too for only a couple of purchases.





Firstly whatever they have sent me has been clearly brand new, with no signs of unsealing / resealing - nor any tamper damage.





Secondly if there has been any issue (e.g. missed delivery deadline on my first order, due to those pesky Bank Holidays we have, or wrong plug included) they have compensated with either a free product (they did offer £10 back as goodwill, but I asked for a guitar wall hanger, and got a good one :-) ) - or waived the charge of next day delivery, when requested (remember folks..."if you don't ask, then you don't get").





Their Customer Service guys are always very polite, professional and friendly - when they can do, they do - and when they cannot, then they will try to offer something else as an alternative. Or they will be totally honest if nothing can be negotiated.





Unless an item was MUCH cheaper elsewhere, I would always consider G4M for my needs first - plus they tend to be (one of) the most competitive on prices anyway.





In case this is thought of as a biased review, it has been based on a fault on a new Guitar amp I ordered a month ago, but then died after 3 weeks - I paid for a new one rather than wait for the old one to be examined - G4M waived the next day delivery fee - and also got DPD to collect the faulty amp at the same time as delivering the new one, so I didn't have to wait in on two days. And the amp had also come down in price by then, so I have effectively saved myself almost a tenner - G4M agreed to my requests without hassle.

I have bought quite a few items from Gear4music as the pricing is competitive, but you can really tell how good a company is by what they do when things go wrong, and I have had a few faulty items, but there has never been an issue with returning them for replacement or refund. I would recommend the Gear4music’s service 100%.

IV ordered too items off this company one a mandolin came smashed in bits absalutly useless .... The other a bugle that I ordered last November expected delivery with 20 days or so only to receive an email saying it was delayed but seven or so months ... Expecting it so sometime this week only to receive an email again it's been delayed as if seven months wasn't long enough so I emailed them back asked what the problem was to be told they have stopped selling them or discontinued they're production so thanks gear for music for nothing I'll spend my money somewhere else and if this post stops one person from buying your cheap instruments my job here is done

Would review lower if possible. Company does not like giving out refunds and instead keeps you in a endless loop of sending things back to be looked at then sending back to customer and so on and so on. Avoid at all costs

What a bad experience dealing with Gear 4 Music has been.



I ordered some CDJ stands in May, since then i've had to chase your business multiple times, only to find out they aren't due to arrive until 'some time in September', 4 months after initial order date. Having already chased your company verbally regarding this product, blame was passed to your supplier and you said you'd tried to email me about the delays. I'd made it quite clear the first time that your emails weren't being received, it's still taken another phone call from me to find out I wouldn't actually be receiving my items now over 4 MONTHS after the order date. Nobody has phoned me and all email searches fail to bring up any contact regarding this from your company. Absolutely nothing was done to offer anything in the way of an apology. No value is put on the customer within this business unfortunately, something as simple as a voucher goes a long way. When is 4 months delivery ever acceptable. Terrible customer service and a very bad experience using Gear 4 Music. It won't be happening again and I will certainly be recommending all clients avoid G4M.

I ordered drum stool back in March. Was promised will be delivered next week, since then got four more emails from them, telling me my item will be delivered the next day. Last one was this Tuesday promising it will be delivered Wednesday 20/06/18 and still nothing. Now I can't even see my order in my profile in there site anymore for some reason, just imagine how much longer ( if I ever order from them again) will have to wait. SUPER ANNOYING!

Really bad service. I’ve order a new trombone case for my husband on the 2nd of July expected to arrive between the 24th and 26th July .



Then receive another email informing me that my order would arrive earlier between the 17th and 19th of July and now another email saying that would only arrive in September !

Placed my first order with Gear4music (would turn out to be my last). As a musician who is on tour, I wanted the item to be delivered to an address that is different to my billing address. And I put the correct address into the order form online. Later, I received a confirmation email which said that the item would be delivered to my home (billing) address. After several calls and emails(where they claimed they were trying to change the address on the package), I was told that a first-time order could only be delivered to the invoice address. So my neighbour took the item in, therefore it couldn't be returned, and I had to drive 300 miles to pick it up. No follow-up contact from this company, and really poor customer service.

My boyfriend ordered a synth, and a few days after ordering he received a message saying the delivery was going to be delayed, with no new estimated date given. After making contact via email, he was told a new estimated date yet on the website this company is offering the same item with an estimated date that is sooner! Basically it looks like they are offering delivery times on their website that they know damn well they can't possibly fulfill.

Order cancelled and now have to wait up to 5 days for the bank to make his money available again so he can order the item from elsewhere. Complete waste of time.

No doubt they will attempt to blame their suppliers, but the suppliers can't be blamed for gear4music putting false information up on their website!

I’m really disappointed with the service I have received by gears4music.

I ordered 2 LED speaker stands around a month ago. The money was taken more a less straight away and was emailed with confirmation that my delivery would be with me within a few days. After around a week, the money was refunded to my account. Obviously alarm bells rang so I phone gears4music helpline.

After being informed that the stock wasn’t available, which in my opinion should be stated on website. They would then contact me within the next few days to take payment again when delivery arrives to store.

So, after all that trouble, I get a text from yourselves stating that my delivery will be with me on the Wednesday. After waiting in all day for a delivery, which didn’t turn up.

I phone in again, to be told that my delivery was lost and they were sending out a search for it.

A couple more days pass, my delivery is found and on it way to deliver to my neighbour as requested.

But once they delivered my “parcel” they had only delivered half. So I’ve now rang gears4music for got to be the 6/7th time to be told that DPD have lost half my parcel and yet again there is a search on it and they cannot composite me as it’s not their responsibility and my parcel “should” arrive in the next few days.



Reminding you I ordered this a month ago and was urgent I had them ASAP!

Fuming to be honest with you.

Will not be using you again & that will be a loss for you as I’m a performer and require equipment quite regularly.

I will be informing trading standards about this disgusting service I’ve received aswell.

I placed an order through the website and chose the item to be delivered to one of the locations offered by Gear4music to avoid any hustles with the delivery. The item was supposed to be delivered today.

30 min before the scheduled delivery time I got a message from DPD saying that the delivery address had been updated and that the item was being shipped to the billing address rather than the depot.

The problem started when I realised that the post code on the address was wrong since they kept the post code for the depot rather than the one from the billing address provided when the order was placed.

I called DPD who said they could update it and give instructions to the driver to leave the package with a neighbour.

An hour later I got a message from DPD saying that they couldn’t deliver the item and uploaded a picture showing a wrong property.

I got in contact with Gear4music who promised to Contact DPD so they could deliver the product to the depot, as originally intended, or resend it to the billing address updating the post code. they said they would call me back.

They never phoned or send an email regarding the update received from DPD.

I had to call them again to find out that they were not able to change the address and that the item would be delivered on Monday to the billing address.

I explained many times that the billing address was not the same as the shipping address since I moved to another property and hence it wouldn’t work for me even if the item was delivered to the billing address.

They said there wasn’t anything else they could do and processed a refund.

Now I can say that gear4music is a joke. Their customer service is nonexistent and they are the only responsibles for what happened since they messed it up with the post code on the billing address. In addition, they are more happy to process refunds rather than taking care of the problem and fix it.

The experience has been awful and gear4music are real time wasters. Totally unhappy with this company. Hope people will stop buying from them so they learn how important is to offer good customer service.

I ordered a mic stand for my wife's birthday. SImple you might think.



No. first, they sent it without a base. I'm not even sure how you do that. I contact them and asked them to resend, and told them I was annoyed as I'd paid expedited delivery as it was a gift. Then and then emailed me to say they have got a box down to check the whole stand was there, then personally sent it to me the fastest delivery possible. I thought that was fair enough, mistakes happen. This was Friday.



Friday morning, I get an email to say delivery will be Tuesday. I contacted them to point out this was not the fastest delivery possible and was told that they sent the base (now not a replacement stand, but that's fine, I only want a base) for Saturday delivery and they 'weren't sure who told me' that it was Tuesday. I informed them it was their own system that told me, but got no reply.



Now it's Saturday, and no sign of the base, or stand, or whatever is being sent. Instead, I have a new email saying the 'the anticipated delivery date of' has been 'moved forward' and that they now 'estimate [my] order will be delivered between Sunday 1st July - Sunday 8th July.'



My wife's birthday was yesterday.



They really are rubbish. Avoid.

Horrendous service. Ordered an item on a Friday for the specific reasons of it being delivered on the Monday. The item was then delayed by a further ten days. Now approaching a month later, I am in a constant loop of delays. When contacting Gear 4 Music, they refunded me 19 pound on a 266 pound item, and have somehow passed that off as a brilliant solution, totally IGNORING my email in regards to a cancellation, and IGNORING my request to speak to someone who can help me, thus I now await my expected SIXTH date change.

Not one to complain, especially via the internet, but I wanted to warn anyone considering using Gear4Music,

I got in contact with Gear4music who promised to Contact DPD so they could deliver the product to the depot, as originally intended, or resend it to the billing address updating the post code. they said they would call me back.

They never phoned or send an email regarding the update received from DPD.

I had to call them again to find out that they were not able to change the address and that the item would be delivered on Monday to the billing address.

I explained many times that the billing address was not the same as the shipping address since I moved to another property and hence it wouldn’t work for me even if the item was delivered to the billing address.

They said there wasn’t anything else they could do and processed a refund.

Now I can say that gear4music is a joke. Their customer service is nonexistent and they are the only responsibles for what happened since they messed it up with the post code on the billing address. In addition, they are more happy to process refunds rather than taking care of the problem and fix it.

The experience has been awful and gear4music are real time wasters. Totally unhappy with this company. Hope people will stop buying from them so they learn how important is to offer good customer service.

I ordered a mic stand for my wife's birthday. SImple you might think.



No. first, they sent it without a base. I'm not even sure how you do that. I contact them and asked them to resend, and told them I was annoyed as I'd paid expedited delivery as it was a gift. Then and then emailed me to say they have got a box down to check the whole stand was there, then personally sent it to me the fastest delivery possible. I thought that was fair enough, mistakes happen. This was Friday.



Friday morning, I get an email to say delivery will be Tuesday. I contacted them to point out this was not the fastest delivery possible and was told that they sent the base (now not a replacement stand, but that's fine, I only want a base) for Saturday delivery and they 'weren't sure who told me' that it was Tuesday. I informed them it was their own system that told me, but got no reply.



Now it's Saturday, and no sign of the base, or stand, or whatever is being sent. Instead, I have a new email saying the 'the anticipated delivery date of' has been 'moved forward' and that they now 'estimate [my] order will be delivered between Sunday 1st July - Sunday 8th July.'



My wife's birthday was yesterday.



They really are rubbish. Avoid.

Horrendous service. Ordered an item on a Friday for the specific reasons of it being delivered on the Monday. The item was then delayed by a further ten days. Now approaching a month later, I am in a constant loop of delays. When contacting Gear 4 Music, they refunded me 19 pound on a 266 pound item, and have somehow passed that off as a brilliant solution, totally IGNORING my email in regards to a cancellation, and IGNORING my request to speak to someone who can help me, thus I now await my expected SIXTH date change.

Not one to complain, especially via the internet, but I wanted to warn anyone considering using Gear4Music,

it’s safe to say they don’t know what they are doing.
