Despite the Baltic Sea enjoying a relatively mild winter thusfar, here we see m/v "Konstantin" discharging bagged fertilisers in the snow-covered port of Västerås.
Having loaded in the Russian Baltic, the vessel discharged at two different Swedish ports for our usual & semi-exclusive fertiliser Charterers.
Our thanks to Göran Lönn at Mälaragent AB in Västerås for the photos and the excellent service whilst the vessel was in port.

Loading presently at EBS Botlek for Spain then onward to Egypt.

m/v "Kamelia", loading baled waste for Sweden at the UK port of Blyth.
Interesting footnote; the Swedish government offer generous subsidies to national power stations to recycle what most of us would consider household waste into renewable energy. A noble incentive.
Many thanks and 2019 copyright to Glenn Watson from GP Shipping Billingham for the photos.

Something a bit different job for us here at H.C. - m/v "Anna" loading an umbilical cable in reel in the UK port of Hartlepool. The vessel will discharge the cradle-housed cargo in the Nigerian port of Port Harcourt.
Thanks to Daniel Heritage at GP Shipping Billingham for the great pictures.

Our thanks to Steven Caddy at GP Shipping Limited in Billingham for the photos.

m/v "MCP Famagusta" under loading operations in the Egyptian Suez port of Al-Adabiyah. Vessel ballasted for eleven days from Jebel-Ali in the UAE, taken armed anti-piracy guards and defences whilst transiting known piracy waters off Aden. Next stop; Spain for discharge.
Thanks and copyright to Yousra at Gans Cargo Egypt.

H.C. at the C.I.C.?
This is happening.
More next week.

In what is a regular trade for H.C., the Estonian owned m/v "Ketlin" loads baled waste in the port of Blyth, bound for Sweden.
Thanks, as always, to Matthew Todd M.I.C.S. at GP Shipping Limited (Tees) for the photos.

m/v "Lady Ami", seen here loading her cargo of baled waste - known in the trade as RDF, or Refuse Derived Fuel - in the north east UK port of Blyth. Next stop; Sweden.

And so to today.
m/v "Elena" loads in the vowel-averse port of Szczecin in Poland, loading a dual grade cargo of bulk concentrates destined for Spain.
Again, many thanks and copyright rights go to Piotr Biesaga at Poseidon Frachtkontor Junge in Szczecin.

m/v "Souselas", loading her cargo of bulk concentrates in the Polish port of Szczecin. The cargo was bound for Spain, a regular trade for which we presently have her sister vessel loading in Poland.
For those board game fans among you, the word 'Szczecin' is worth about forty seven billion points in Scrabble.
Full copyright for the photos and thanks go to Piotr Biesaga at Poseidon Frachtcontor Junge Sp. z o.o. (Szczecin).

What's that you say? Haven't seen a Dutch vessel loading baled waste in the UK recently?
H.C. Shipping & Chartering Ltd - always happy to oblige.

COB Wk 13 2018: Steady. Little by means of earnest trading ahead of the Easter holidays lead to an unusally quiet month/quarter end. More likely down to Charterers and Owners alike getting their holidays covered by either booking ahead, or utilising existing contract bookings, the four days trading in Europe struggled to develop any real head of steam. Optimism remains for Q2, but it won't take a substantial slowdown in cargo output to chip away at positivity.

Meanwhile, on what is literally the other side of the World...
m/v "Slavyanka" discharges her EU-origin cargo on the US West Coast. Thanks indeed to Brad for obtaining these for us.
