Holgate Windmill

The mill will be open on Saturday 18th, Sunday 19th May and Bank Holiday Monday 27th from 11am - 4pm. Visit the mill and see our new exhibition Magic Millstones: From Grain to Flour. And don't forget you can purchase our flour during open days and each Saturday morning from 10am - 12pm

OPEN DAYS - after a long cold winter the mill is opening up for the summer season. We will be open from 11am - 4pm on Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th and Bank Holiday Monday 6th May. Come and explore Yorkshire's only working windmill. £3 adults, £1 children 5 - 18yrs and HWPS members free.

Calling all Mini Millers, age 4 - 7 years - join us to learn about and explore our wonderful windmill through crafts, activities and games this season. See our website www.holgatewindmill.org for full details. Sessions will be on the 3rd Saturday of each month, May to October from 10am - 11am and cost £3 per child. Calling all Mini Millers- Can you find the Easter bunnies in Holgate windmill on Easter Monday? Follow the bunny trail and solve the puzzle to win an Easter prize. Be ready for lots of climbing and fun while exploring this amazing historic windmill. Standard admission charge (£3 per adult, £1 for children 5-18 years) plus 50p per child for the Easter Trail activity, all ages welcome. No pre-booking required. We will be open on Monday 22nd April 2019 11am-4pm.

OPEN WEEKEND - Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd March. The mill will be open from 11am until 4pm on both days for you to explore the mill plus on Sunday join our happy pancake bakers for Pancake Day from 11am until the batter runs out so come early.

Just a reminder that the mill is open this weekend as part of the Residents First Festival.#resfest19 If you are a York resident bring along your library card or York address utility bill and get into the mill for free. We are open 11am until 4pm on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th January. Normal admission charges apply for non-Yorkies.

A very Merry Christmas to all of our supporters, committee and volunteers - and to the 301 children who visited the mill to see Santa. Although the mill is now closed for tours until Residents' First Weekend in January 2019 the shop remains open every Saturday morning 10am - 12pm for wheat and spelt flours, Christmas cards and mill gifts.

A message for all our members. The AGM will take place on Friday 30th November, 7.00pm, at The Holgate, 6 New Lane, YO24 4NT. This year we are excited to have a presentation following the meeting by Rob Shorland-Ball on Leetham's mill in York. Once the largest roller mill in Europe.

Santa is coming!! Come and visit him at the mill this festive season. We will be open on Saturday 1st, Sunday 2nd and Saturday 8th December from 2pm to 4pm and Sunday 9th from 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm. Children £5 including a present from Santa, adults have free admission but we welcome donations for mince pies and hot mulled apple juice. Booking is not required but there may be a wait if it gets busy.

A great weekend at the mill last week - welcoming our friends from Windesheim windmill in the Netherlands. We toured Holgate mill, and Beningbrough Hall and enjoyed a night out.
