What a great night. We went as a party of 12 to celebrate a 12th birthday.

We were seated in the room to the right as you go into the pub. We were welcomed by a lovely member of staff (whose name we never caught...apologies) but he was a lovely guy, attentive without being overbearing and he was super friendly.

The drinks service was fairly swift; bearing in mind it was a busy Friday night, and the food was lovely...No complaints from any of us!

I would definitely recommend for food or drink and we will certainly be back (probably without a birthday cake next time!)

My friend and I had the early bird menu... Plenty choice of starters and mains for just £14.50.

We both chose gin to drink at the bar, with plenty of choice, I had the rhubarb which was wonderful. We were then seated when we were ready in the restaurant area.

I had the pate which was lovely, my friend had the seafood salad which was beautifully, fresh and both great size portions and lovely presentation.

We both picked the lamb shank and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious and a delight to look at with beautiful vegetables on a bed of creamed mashed potatoes and accompanied by a gorgeous ju.

It was so good I asked for extra ju and was happily brought out a little jug full.

Fabulous, relaxed atmosphere, with plenty customers in great surroundings. With lovely, friendly and professional staff.

We visit once a month to try all on this lovely menu. Would recommend highly to anyone.

I was in a very large party today that The Hop wasn’t prepared for. Seating was arranged for nearly 50 people in a very short space of time after they realised the booking was not for just 20. The staff were amazing, so calm under pressure. The food was hot and really lovely and it came out pretty quickly all things considered. I would highly recommend and will definitely revisit based purely on the attitude of the staff. I’m sure the chef had some choice words but the food didn’t suffer! Well done for having such a good team. I don’t often leave reviews but this is one place that deserves five stars.
