having worked at the smugglers bar many years ago the marina was buzzing with nightlife and was very popular....since they knocked down the pubs i felt the hull marina had lost its vibe.....i visited on saturday for the first time in years and i have to say im amazed at the transformation and feel proud to have been born and bred in this city. Hull has definitely been put on the map and i hope it continues to grow

User

The fireworks where amazing, the atmosphere was buzzing and there was a great vibe. Music was 'spot on' and fitted the occasion. Loved the films featuring Hull and the poem was moving and thought provoking. Plenty of toilets, which is always important. Yes there were less drink facilities than there might have been, but we managed and enjoyed our drinks on returning home. The vibe in the city as we walked to the marina was amazing and I felt proud to be from and in Hull. The night was a 'hit' for me and I know I can say the same for those I was with. Xx

User

The Marina is a great place to visit, fab restaurants, great bars. It was a great venue for the fireworks, the crowd were enthusiastic and yes it was cold, but not if you were dancing

User

My partner and I are frequent visitors to the Marina in Hull. We had an excellent day and enjoyed a lovely meal in the, " Blue Water Café." The town is in the process of having new paving stones laid and this as added a positive vibe to the place. Roll on the summer when we can dine alfresco

User

Lovely place, the Spurn light ship is worth a visit. Nice atmosphere, food, drink, music and boats. Take your binoculars and camera

User

It's nice to look at all the boats , yachts and pirate ship and go and sit on the pier.

The only let down was that my little girl is in a wheelchair and you couldn't access the disabled toilets as they don't use the radar key that fits every disabled toilet all over this country. And no one was around to unlock the toilet.

User

It was a fantastic night. The music was very good. The atmosphere was very good everyone was enjoying the night. Could maybe have done with someone selling hot drinks. Fire works were brilliant. We loved Victoria square as well will be going back to see that again.

User

I had a great time around the Marina yesterday. It always has a great, friendly atmosphere and the weather was perfect for a few photos. There are a lot of exciting events taking place in Hull this year and I will be spending more time around The Marina and City Centre. Proud to be a resident of Hull . Great place to live.

User

Hull is full of culture, especially around the maritime theme. There is definitely a buzz around the city for this years City of culture. It is definitely worth a visit, especially if you've never been before. A gem on the East Coast and enough to do for any holiday maker visiting the area.

User

Hull is a pretty, buzzing city with historical interest and cultural events galore with a good 'cafe society' vibe and loads of Marina accommodation to rent. Don't miss out on a week-end getaway in Hull.

User

Fantastic night and great fireworks, made me proud to be from Hull!! The volunteers were amazing in particular one who found me and my group a spot in the disabled section, I probably would have not seen much in my wheelchair otherwise! Thanks!!!

User

Brilliant day shame the bar prices are so expensive no need to for it the price I paid for 1 drink on the marina I got 2 for in town centre

User

As a guy from Sunderland but regular visitor to this city it was great to be part of the celebrations and loved the fireworks etc and one for city of Hull to be proud of,well done

User

The fireworks were worth waiting for although there was no were to sit an more cafes an food places open in zone a an we weren''t aloud in as we only had tickets for zone b, it was really cold so a cafe would have been nice to go an wait till the fireworks.

User

Thanks to Hull City Council for putting on the fireworks show for Sarah's birthday, plus all the other people that had birthday's on the same day, oh nearly forgot, City of Culture and don't buy the s*n newspaper xxx

User

It was a great place to see the fireworks. Ok it might not be the best place to stand at this time of the year but the marina is a bit of a special place for me!

User

Fireworks and made in Hull art was brilliant. But as the tickets advised us to get there around 6 we was stood round freezing for 2 and half hours which was hard because of the cold weather but all in all it was good

User

Brilliant launch to Hull city of culture . The display in the city and the life of Hull displayed across the three buildings was amazing . The fire works were brilliant was freezing but the people were warm and friendly .

Only one recommendation is give more thought to food and drink availability .

Good luck Hull xxxxx

User
