We had the taster menu, this was the second time we’ve done this and it didn’t disappoint. Fabulous food and atmosphere, Paulo and his team made for a great night out.

We arrived at 7pm to be told no available tables but to come back at 7.30 which we did - kindly they said they would honour the early bird menu - the food was delicious - staff attentive - and the atmosphere for a Monday evening was buzzing! So glad we went - excellent value too 👍🏻

This the best Italian; well actually Sardinian restaurant in York. All the food is fresh and the staff are great. Excellent value and a superb menu. Remember though it is CASH ONLY: no cards taken.

This is thee best place to experience true Italian food at its best... Never disappointed with the food or the hospitality... both totally genuine..

The perfect meal. Reminded me and my partner of being back in Rome, the food was delicious, you could tell it was truly authentic. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Paolo and his team never disappoint. It is so nice to taste true southern italian food there are far to many italian restaurants stuck in the 1970s with the same old menus and average food. For me eating at paolo s transports me to my sister / brothers cooking in cava de terrain south italy were the food is central to everything. Fresh ingredients, exciting dishes, flavours that make me feel excited and happy and desperate to re create!! With the taste being so authentic you could excuse even the poorest of presentation, however every dish looks to me like a perfect piece of art. Thank you for making my birthday perfect (and cheers mum for paying!!)

If you want an authentic meal in a relaxed friendly buzzing atmosphere then this is the place to come! Could not fault the food or service. Doesn’t look much from the outside but get yourself inside and you’re pretty close to heaven. Yum!

Haven’t been here for a while but the welcome was as friendly as ever and the food was as mouth wateringly delicious as ever. It was hubby’s birthday and we had a lovely time - definitely returning sooner this time!

Have eaten here many times. Food is great, always a relaxing informal atmosphere. Authentic decor and great service. Usually book a table as it gets very busy.

Fabulous little gem . Very lucky to get a table without booking , but they managed to squeeze us in. This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants we have been to. Food was excellent , price competitive, staff lovely and great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit .

Celebrated my son's 18th birthday here last night and had a great time. The food was delicious and service was excellent. Fantastic atmosphere for a Wednesday evening! I'm glad we booked, it was packed. It was a lovely surprise when they brought my son a dessert out with a candle in it and the restaurant sang happy birthday!

Been coming here for years now with my husband & family� can not fault a thing ever!! Great atmosphere, amazing food (best Italian in York) superb friendly staff! Something for everyone, in my opinion a hidden gem!!� nothing ever too much trouble!! Xxxxx
