SIMPLY MEDITATION WORKSHOP
Saturday 10th November
10am - 1pm, costs £10 per person
... This event is held at: Khedrubje Buddhist Centre 196 Coltman Street Anlaby Road Hull HU3 2SQ
A real opportunity to develop some inner peace and relaxation, these morning courses are purely about unwinding through the practice of meditation.
The meditations in these workshops will be guided by an experienced practitioner and help to calm your mind, reduce stress, and give rise to an experience of inner peace and wellbeing.
The first sessions will focus on a breathing meditation that helps disengage the mind from the busyness of everyday life and create a special feeling of inner peace.
The second session combines mindfulness of the breath with visualization, or creative imagination, and leads to a deep feeling of inner calm and purity. These meditations can be practiced by anyone and these workshops are open to all.
Please book online here: http://www.meditateinhull.org.uk/…/…/ Meditation+Workshop/295

The 22nd of September is a special day in our calendar as we celebrate ‘Buddha’s Return from Heaven Day’
On this special day, we remember Buddha’s kindness by engaging in chanted prayers and making offerings. It is said that if we engage in any kind of virtuous action on this day it becomes especially powerful.

Buddha taught us how all happiness and suffering depend upon the mind.
He showed us how to abandon those states of mind that cause suffering and cultivate those states of mind that cause happiness.
It is for this reason that Kadampa Buddhists begin every practice by reciting this special prayer to Buddha composed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Would recommend anyone struggling psychologically to visit this centre. The Buddhist belief and philosophy I feel is the closest anyone can get for self help. I have attended 95% of the Monday morning classes over the last 4 years, the majority of classes have been led by Gen Kelsang Rigma, and on a personal note she is one of the most inspiring people I have had the pleasure to meet!

What an amazing place! I have been coming here for quite a few years and it simply gets better each time. The people, the teachings, the meditations, the friendliness, the atmosphere is great. You can't help but feel happier and more relaxed with every visit. I urge you to give it a try. You don't need to be Buddhist, you just have to have the wish to be happy and this is where you'll find it.

What a wonderful place to be. Lovely people and a welcome for all

Very nice place. I'm referring to the house & coffee shop.... :) Havn't had a chance to sit outside in the (back) garden as I havn't been going very long & the weathers been tooo cold so far,but it should be nice, soon; as the weather gets warmer.... :)

- I've had a few great chats with Yonchong & Laura so far... :) They have good minds & can talk on many subjects... :) I am Very ill & Tired, with "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome"/Fibromyalgia (makes you feel like hell).... :( BUT I like to feel we sort of 'pool' USEFULL information.... :)

- We're 'stuck' here on this earth,so we might as well make the best of it.... :)

Love & luck to the others there... :) I'm Too Ill to go to the other place at Pocklington,on my own.... :(

I don't go there, now. I need friends who can visit me in my home as I can't always get out........ :(
