lovely setting in the shadows of york Minster , sat in the conservatory and enjoyed probably one of the best 2 course meals i have eaten in a very long time , ribeye steak melted in your mouth , staff and their attention they pay to you during service is first class , wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this place to anyone , thanks for an enjoyable evening �����

Went to this restaurant yesterday and what a lovely meal we had. The ambiance was great, the service was good and very friendly and food excellent. We ate in the conservatory at the back of the restaurant which was a super place to eat. If I could offer a suggestion, it would be great if the garden out back was lit to show off the rear grounds at night. Can't make the food any better though.

We went yesterday to York myself and my daughter for a lovely day out, and before heading home we wanted a lovely meal, well what can I say we had the most beautiful meal I had strip steak burger and my daughter had a lovely sirloin steak which I can say was beautiful the service was second to none. We had ice cream sundae for afters. All in all you must visit if your in York. We gave £5 tip that’s how lovely the service and food was. It isn’t as expensive as you think. So just think on next time your there. Try here you won’t be disappointed I promise

We visited La Vecchia Scuola last night while visiting York , we had probably the best steak ever. The staff are also very helpful and friendly and we will definitely be back on our next visit to York

We enjoyed a lovely meal here yesterday. We were seated in the conservatory at the back of the restaurant overlooking the beautiful walled gardens where squirrels were playing. The staff were extremely polite and attentive and the chef was happy to oblige when my husband requested a different sauce with his Calzone. There was a lovely atmosphere, food was reasonably priced and service was really good. Would highly recommend a visit!

We called in on a Friday afternoon for a quick meal. Fast and friendly service. Food was excellent. Will definitely go again.

Gorgeous food, well worth a visit. We were seated in the conservatory overlooking the gardens. My husband had lamb and said it was excellent. We shared a banoffee dessert with salted caramel icecream, but wish we had ordered one each, as it was delicious! Overall a very pleasant experience, we will definitely be back next time we visit York! x

Amazing value. Two courses for £15.95 or 3 courses for £19.95( this is dated 20/6/2018) the food was fantastic. This restaurant is well well worth the visit.

I had the lamb and it was gorgeous, it fell apart, melted like butter.

Always enjoy the food. I had fillet steak, it was amazing and unlike most other eating establishments it did not come with half a beef tomato, mushroom and chips! Instead wrapped in crispy pancetta on a potato cake with asparagus spears (perfectly cooked) and thin slices of crispy onions, not forgetting the Diane sauce - a perfect meal, all washed down with a lovely glass of red. Very pleasant staff.

We visit annually. Lovely place, atmosphere and staff. Usually have the 2 course lunch. Main was beautiful (as always) but the starter, this time, was poor, the bruschetta was like a brick and the tomatoes didn't taste fresh. Will definitely return - I just won't have the bruschetta ha ha.

Visited yesterday with friends out on a hen party!!! Lovely meal,nice surroundings & friendly,efficient staff! Thank you 😊

The food was good. Drinking water was very slow arriving and the service could have been better. Food should not be passed over guests heads for others to take hot plates in their hands and potentially burn themselves.
