Went here to eat as we needed somewhere with space to accommodate a double buggy. We definitely made the right choice. Outstanding service. Wonderful food. Every little thing is thought about and taken care of from high chairs, changing mat and disposable bibs for babies. Nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely recommend Mr Chippy

We had an early lunch here today, and it was fantastic!

I had the calamari which was perfectly cooked, the batter was light and not greasy or oily at all, my son had fish and chips, the batter was gorgeous, the fish was lovely and the chips! �

Its a shame we live in Suffolk, otherwise we'd be eating here all the time!

We decided to go to York today but really didn't expect it to be as busy as what it was, we really thought we would struggle for somewhere to eat until we stumbled upon this beautiful place and a gentleman came to greet us at the door and yay we were in luck one table left we were made to feel very welcome by the staff and nothing was a problem. The food was amazing we both decided on the cod and chips and both commented that they were the best we've probably ever had we will definitely be coming back again :-).Thank you

We are o a p and found that not only the meal and drink was lovely the staff plasent and helpful they do o a p meals which was just enough for me and my sister and only cost £9.99

Visited for the first time today. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Hubby had the steak and ale pie, I had the fishcakes. Beautifully cooked, presented and served. Will definitely be back next time we are in York.

Impromptu sunny day trip to York and fancied fish and chips, Mr Chippy did not disappoint!! Amazing food, lovely decor and fab, friendly staff. Portions were not skimpy and the food was fresh and delicious. Our new family favourite for food in York!! We'll be back �

I went in yesterday evening for the first time to eat in. The chips were verry nice and i also enjoyed my 2 pots of tea. Also the staff members are verry nice people :)

Had a day out in York with our grandson and wow it was so busy with Xmas markets etc.

We walked miles stopping off at pubs etc to find a place to eat with no luck

We stumbled on this place but again it looked very busy we were just about to walk away when a guy from inside popped his head out and asked did we need a table for 3 we said yes please

His answer was take a seat I will have one in 10 minutes it was well worth the wait

Food was delicious and piping hot

Definitely worth a visit we will be back on weekday for the over 60s meal deal

Good quality fish and chips, served fresh. Nice onion rings aswell. Staff very knowledgeable on the the product they serve (the guy told us the difference between fishes very well).



Ps. Don't read the the review on here that's really long and only has one star from the crazy girl. I read it for you and it makes no sense and takes ages to read and has very little to do with anything.

When we visit York we always look forward to eating here but we were disappointed to say the least today it looks like the restaurant has been taken over or maybe just had a refurb, the food wasn't as nice the chips were all scrappy the bread was stale the waitress didn't know what she was doing I ordered a special and when out arrived it was just normal, we also ordered puddings why I don't know because the so called spotted dick was awful just cheap microwaved rubbish and at just short of a fiver I expected a lot more. The prices have also gone up I was shocked when the bill arrived £71 for cheap quality food, I find this really sad as this place was fantastic last time we visited. We won't be going again such a shame come on guys check your quality � oh and paying £12 for a portion of fish and chips I would expect a cup of tea to be included and not having to pay an extra £2.50 !!!

We are in the service was great aswell as the food although the portion of chips was rely small so had to get another portion of chips. we had two cod specials and two bottles of coke ind I could not believe it came to £40 for fish and chips twice then we went to one the day after just outside the wall (centre ) and ordered two small fish chips and peas ,gravy and two bottles of Dr Pepper £20 and there was more food same quality standards. So it's obvious which one I shall go back to sorry me chippy but your well over priced 😢

The food is great don't get me wrong but I would only return for take out!

Do not bother eating in the restaurant... toilets weren't useable- no light in one and a broken toilet seat in the other, we were told we couldn't share a gravy and were charged £3 baring in mind the meal itself was only £10 each (fish,chips,peas,bread)

The waiter said he was able to serve alcohol so we had a rum and coke - charged £6.85 a glass!

Food again was great but the eat in experience certainly wasnt!

I had the Chilli for a change instead of Fish and chips and the portion size was not enough for what I payed. I should have just gone to the take away side. And got more bang for my buck.
