Rainbows in the window are not just for homes🌈. These are by children/grandchildren of our team🤩. As you may have to queue outside the pharmacy at the moment, it's something nice to look at. If any of our younger customers would like to add a rainbow to the display, it would be very welcome 👍🏻

Covid update 2
As of Tuesday 24th March, we are reducing our opening hours to help us cope with unprecedented demand for our Pharmacy Services. We are doing this under guidance from NHS England.
Our new opening times:
... 9.15am - 12noon Closed between 12noon and 2pm 2pm - 5.30pm
We are currently working to meet the biggest demand for prescriptions there has ever been. You can help by giving us some extra time to prepare your prescription, by only ordering what you need and if possible using online methods for ordering your prescription such as the NHS App.
We will still be limiting access to the pharmacy in order to reduce social contact between patients, and with members of staff. This means you may be asked to wait outside, but we will keep your waiting time as short as we can.

Covid 19 update
As the response to the Coronavirus pandemic develops, at Newtons Pharmacy we will be making some changes to our usual practices. We hope you will understand and accept any inconvenience these might cause.
Opening times - we will maintain our usual opening hours as much as possible, but may have to close for short periods to allow cleaning, staff breaks, stock replacement etc. We will announce these periods with as much notice as possible. We may also keep the ...doors locked, and limit access to a small number of patients at a time to reduce close contact. We tried this move on Saturday with some success, and are grateful for your cooperation.
Prescription deliveries - as more patients stay at home, the demand on our delivery service is increasing enormously and we are looking at options to expand. The current advice is to ask a suitable family member, friend or volunteer to collect your prescription from the pharmacy. If this is not possible, we will help you as soon as possible.
Product shortages - some everyday medicines and other products are in very short supply, and we are trying to obtain stock from our wholesalers. Where such products are available, we may limit the quantity you can buy to give more people access to them.
If you have symptoms (a new persistent cough and fever), please do not enter the pharmacy or your GP surgery - please contact NHS 111 online or by telephone.
We have received many messages of support from patients and customers - thank you, it means a lot!

Newtons Pharmacy will close from 1pm to 3pm today, Monday 21st January. Staff will be attending the funeral of David Finney, who was one of our Delivery Drivers for more than ten years. He will be much missed by all of us, and by the many patients who he visited regularly.

We have had technical problems with our phone line today. Apologies to anyone who tried to call us. We expect the problem to be solved sometime tomorrow (Wednesday 11th). You can still contact us by email or on Facebook, or just pop in to see us!

They also have an app - MyPso - which helps you to build a photo diary of your symptoms, track and identify triggers and create reports for your doctor. I've had a look at this app, and I think it would have been really useful when I had an attack of Psoriasis last year.

We'll be wearing red for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day tomorrow - it might not be a dignified sight...
