It is with great regret that we announce the passing of John Richard Fielding Terry, life president, ex-chairman and founder of The North Lincs Veterans Hub CIC in the early hours of this morning. Johns passing will leave a giant space in both the NLVCH and The North Lincs (Scunthorpe) Breakfast club, another organisation close to Johns heart. Further details will be announced as time goes on. All our sympathies are passed to his widow Joan and his family.

The Hub regrets that, owing to shortage of volunteers, we will be closed for the whole of August, resuming on Tuesday 4th September. During this time, however, we can still be contacted via this page or our webpage and an emergency number will be posted in the window. Messages may also be left on our landline as we will continue to check regularly for mail.

From our 'soft' opening in April last year and our official opening during Armed Forces weekend 2017, we are very close to celebrating our first year in 'business'. We have a very dedicated but it must be said very small team of volunteers who work hard to ensure the doors are kept open when they should be. However, there is always room for more! If you have a few hours to spare, no experience necessary, we would love to welcome you to our team - training is given and it isn't essential you have a service background. Pop in and have a chat and a brew with those on duty - we would love to see you!

The Directors and Support Team would like to thank Foster Environmental for their generous donation of £250, which will go towards maintaining the Hub and ensuring the doors remain open to all the veteran and military community.

Sandra, Donna and Wilma fund raising for the Hub today at Morrisons. Thank you ladies, great effort. On the fund raising front we also ran a car boot stall at Glanford Park on Sunday raising nearly £200 so we can keep the Hub doors open and continue to serve the Veterans of North Lincolnshire!

Due to the adverse weather conditions locally we regret the Hub will be closed for the remainder of the week. Business - hopefully - as usual next week.

A great day at the Jobs Fair in the Conference Centre at British Steel in Scunthorpe. Our team met several employers who employ Veterans and some Veterans looking for help and support. Meet us at the North Lincs Veterans Community Hub at 31 Frances Street, for help and signposting.
