York is full of great places to eat. However, this stands out as a 'go to' place. My husband and I go when we can and most recently we were impressed that our host remembered us, and that Robin had left his reading glasses. He was reunited with them.

It is also the place I choose for 1:1 networking meetings in relation to my work as a reflexive-practitioner psychologist

What a lovely welcome. The coffee and victoria sponge was spot on and thank you for the recommendation for the lounge hair salon. I will be calling again when I have another hair appointment xx

Went for English breakfast. Vegan option was delicious, hummus instead of eggs! just what I was looking for. There are also vegetarians and meat options, perfect to go with family or friends. Nice coffee, and waitress was lovely too. I'll definitely come back :)

Visited today with my daughter and Polly the puppy. Really lovely to find dog friendly places, and this one was fab. The hot tea was much needed on a very cold day. Next time I am visiting my daughter at uni we will call again. Loved the lime & courgette cakeaway I have too. Thanks again for a lovely warm welcome x

Thank you so much for your excellent hospitality and fabulous food, all served with a smile within the gorgeous surroundings of the beautifully planted courtyard. Our party was made to feel very much at home and all dietary needs were catered for appropriately.

Lovely little place away from all the main eateries in York centre. Great selection of food and cakes, and even better for me that there were a good few home made vegan food options. Very friendly service, reasonably priced and highly recommended. Thank you!

Lovely breakfast on a wet morning. All staff were more than happy to welcome us with a soggy dog. We were asked if we would like a towel, water and biscuits for our dog . Happy dog , happy owners

It really feels like you are treating yourself when you come here. A really attractive interior and beautiful garden area. Superb food - I've had breakfast, lunch and cake (at different visits!) at a very reasonable price for the quality. Service can't be faulted either, pretty fast and one of the friendliest places in York. I brought some friends who were staying with me and they loved it too. Looking forward to coming back plenty more times...

Great place! Excellent service and delicious coffee - only stopped for a drink so didnt taste the food but it looked amazing! Dog friendly too which was great as we had our trainee hearing puppy with us. She recieved lots of belly rubs. We will be back. �

Great food and service. The cafe had a nice buzz to it even though it was a Sunday in January. I visited to deliver flyers for my up and coming exhibition in Feb and March, and thoroughly loved looking at the art from the current exhibition which was diverse and of a high standard. Great cafe/bar and fabulous venue to exhibit my work.

Great food and reasonable prices. Good location and lovely garden if the weather is good. Recently celebrated my birthday with a large group of friends and the service was excellent �

Great food and great welcoming service which made for a really enjoyable get together for friends visiting York for the day.

Discovered this hidden gem on a sunny bank holiday monday and it was so lovely to sit outside in the little garden area! The food was delicious, i had an amazing mac n cheese and my sister had the smoked haddock which she said was lovely too. They even made an impressively large cheese sandwich for my 2 year old nephew on request which he really enjoyed! The staff were absolutely brilliant especially the lady who served us. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family in york and be visiting again next time im back!

Booked a mystery trip with national holidays and ended up in york, so many shops seemed expensive when all I wanted was a cake, cola and a seat, I got so much more than that.

ordered a cookies and creame cake and it was beautiful the staff were very nice and accomodating, a well kept cafe would reccomend to anyone in the area. If i ended up in the area in the future I would certainly be here for round 2 of cake.

Always really friendly buzz about it. Great inside in winter and lovely autside in summer. Has a real reputation for its homemade cakes but the jack fruit vegan tacos are really tasty too. Fur babies welcome and mine doesn't refuse the biscuits offered or a welcome water bowl.

Absolutely gorgeous. Me and my friend went Thursday of this week we had Yorkshire ham, eggs and chips and they were chunky chips. Then we had lemon cake it was delicious. The staff were really friendly and the ambience was lovely. Will definitely be going back ten out of ten.

Absolutely first class. The garden at the rear is an oasis and so pretty. The cakes are to die for. Makes a change to go to a place where such cakes are just loaded with sugar. The Bakewell Sponge was a delight and the staff extremely friendly. Highly recommend a visit.
