Police Camps Description

INFORMATION PAGE ONLY Police Summer Camp was founded in 2009 when PCSO Cahill applied for a small grant and run the first camp for 30 children, over the last few years Summer Camp has become bigger and better.

In 2010 West Yorkshire Police merged with the Bradford Colllege Public Service department to improve the planning and organisation of the camp, enabling us to increase the amount of children to 130, 2011 saw 150 children, and in 2012 we moved location to Bradford College's Trinity Green building and had 250 children over the week.

This year, Summer Camp is being held across 2 consecutive weeks, aiming to reach out to 500 children from Bradford and Keighley districts.

The aim of the Summer Camp is to provide the children with positive role models and giving the children a better future, taking children off the streets during the summer holidays can lower the level of anti-social behaviour in our communities and the children can have fun taking part in activities they may never have tried, picking up new hobbies and meeting new friends whilst learning valuable life skills and meeting positive role models.
