Went to the Rose and Crown this evening with some friends, a dog and a young baby. Can honestly say we have never felt so welcomed into a pub before. Food was excellent (Steak pie and sticky toffee pudding I would highly recommend) and the service was top class. The locals were welcoming, the fire was going and they even had a local playing guitar and singing at times in the evening. Brilliantly catered for dogs (Even get their own bowl of beef on Sundays) and I can't recommend it highly enough. Will definitely be returning �

Went there for steak night on Thursday, can honestly say it was the best steak meal I have ever had, flawless! Very welcoming and friendly staff, thank you, will be back again soon!!

Went for Sunday dinner today. Fantastic service from all the staff. Nothing was any trouble they went out of there way to make us feel comfortable. Great atmosphere and lovely gardens. Food was lovely cooked to perfection we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much xxxx

We visited today for Sunday lunch, 3 adults 2kids and a toddler. The staff were amazing and great with the kids. The food also was delicious and home cooked. Highly recommend for a good old Sunday lunch.

Thursday night 2 × steaks, all the trimings, an a bottle of wine £25 .. gourgous food & great wine, Massive portions ..fab !!! Totally recommend this place, landlord & lady very acomadating & welcoming!! Nothing to much trouble!

The food was excellent as was the landlord who served us.

Would deffo recommend this pub and we will return.

Superb venue for a family Sunday lunch. Staff were awesome and attentive... compliments to the chef on my beef rib-eye roast dinner.



A++ and would highly recommend.

Steak night was great: two tasty steaks with a good bottle of rosé for only £25 - a bargain! Also couldn't resist sticky toffee pudding & apple crumble with lashings of custard.

They had a singer on called Tax: he looked a bit like Ed Sheeren without the ginger, and sang some quite difficult songs superbly albeit a tad loudly for my liking.

Nevertheless, this ended up a brilliant night of good food & enjoyable entertainment for a grand total of just over forty quid for ALL our drinks & food (total- not each!!). No wonder the place was packed!

PS We'll be back next Thursday although my better half says we might come next Wednesday for their curry night!!

So we opted to come here for lunch today. We were not dissapointed! Very friendly welcome, beautifully kept garden with play area for children. A great menu & the food was outstanding! Even the salad was chopped up with a dressing, which was a bonus!! Deffinately coming back with the family!!

Never been here before as we are from sheffield.We Had a Sunday lunch and it was beautiful so much better than just a pub meal it was A* all home made "even got my boyfriend some ketchup")



The staff are very welcoming taken our coats and made us feel so welcome very cosy and homely definitely would go here again.

My family moved into the village in Nov 2017 and I pleased to say we found our perfect local!. The Rose and Crown is a fantastic country pub with a warm, friendly, cosy atmosphere. All the staff are always very welcoming and accommodating and the food is 5*. Fortunately for us it's child and puppy friendly too!!.

So whether you are a local who just hasn't visited yet, a holiday maker staying in the area or you are simply just passing through the village and looking for a friendly pub with great grub I would highly recommend you pop into The Rose and Crown.

Have done many events here for the management. And also had chance to try the food.



Neil, Nikki and Team definitely provide a high standard excellent service. The food is presented brilliantly and to a high standard. The service you get is bubbly and friendly.

The steak is to die for!!!
