We have been regularly to highwayman and enjoyed it every time love the new menu especially the pizzas also have enjoyed the carvery. We often go for their buffet breakfast and always enjoy it the staff their are all lovely friendly and welcoming. We went to the 80s disco night last night which was a brilliant night all staff very involved with making it a fantastic night. So all in all staff, food & atmosphere 5*

First time ever at this pub. Fancied a change from the regular so thought we'd try out The Highwayman and can say now that I think I've found a new regular. I had a pizza with some garlic doughballs which were fresh dough unlike anywhere else I've been and my brother had a Carvery which also was highly rated by him. Really friendly staff, fantastic food. If I was to crab anything, I'd say the food took longer to arrive than expected but it was really great food so not so bad waiting.

Came in for our first visit last night, we ordered the Margarita pizza & a pulled pork pizza, got to say it was the nicest pizza we've had in a long time, fresh crisp salad bar dips & chips... eat till you're full, loved it... and the place looks fab, lovely staff too ��

We went yesterday for my dad's birthday and we had a lovely evening. We all really enjoyed the food. My husband had a pizza which he really enjoyed and the 2 for 1 carvery is a great deal on a Monday night. While we were waiting for our meals my 2 yr old daughter decided to tip the pepper pot into her mouth and subsequently screeched the place down... Big thanks to the fast actions of the member of staff who was in the play area at the time, who brought us a little slush, she soon got over it! She also helped is bring the food through during the commotion. ��

The customer service was 5* I've never met any of these staff before so they must be new but the waitress on our section was lovely made sure we knew the changes and what we could get with all meals her name started with J but didn't want to stare at her badge we were on table 20. Sarah at the till was enthusiast about everything and very pleasant and the gent carving meat was lovely only down fall was there was no meat left apart from a bit of pork and the last end of the beef and the guy serving it didn't look happy to be only giving us what was there at 3pm. And the mash was a bit dry and lumpy if a bit of butter or milk could of been in there that would be lovely but I will definitely be back so much of an improvement and I love how you can pick what you want with pizzas ect. My brother had meat feast pizza and loved it !!

My fiancée and I came yesterday for a meal as we'd heard it had reopened and I'd heard good things about it. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely gentlemen who was very nice and enthusiastic. Once we had our table we sat down and looked at the menu. It's definitely an improvement on the last menu and I like the pizza section. Once we ordered our food we sat and waited for our starters which did take a while but they arrived and it was okay. I had tomato soup which was like any other tomato soup I've ever had. My fiancée had the mac 'n' cheese bites which he really enjoyed. Once our starters were cleared we went up for our carverys. I found the selection of veg lovely but was disappointed to find there was no apple sauce on offer when they were serving pork (personal preference but I love apple sauce). The carvery was gorgeous the only downfall being the mash was lumpy and lacking flavour... Cream, salt & pepper would go a long way to make it tastier. The cauliflower cheese was to die for and I could have just had a plate of that. Overall it was a nice meal and 100% an improvement from the last time we came a few months ago. It's cheap & cheerful, you get what you pay for. The staff are amazing, the 2 men behind the bar and the 2 ladies on the floor were happy & enthusiastic.

Had a sharing plate thing for starter which was nice... I have got to mention the dough balls... They were AMAZING!



Had a carvery for main, beef was beautiful and mash and roast potatoes were lovely too. There wasn't any veg that I liked (I'm very fussy with veg) but I didn't mind and still left with a full belly and unable to fit a pudding in!

I've been a few times since the refurb and I like the ambience of the place, staff are very helpful and polite. The Burgers are to die for! And I like how they are served, on metal trays, is not something I've seen before but give plenty of room for other things! :)

Only down side I can think of is the kids play area was very cold on one occasion we went and staff apologised but said the heating was controlled off site or something! Thought that was a bit weird.

Also between courses the staff member in the play area forgot to let kitchen staff know we were ready for our next course so the wait was a little longer than would have been expected!

We will probably be going there again so hopefully third time lucky everything will work like clockwork!

It's ok to have somewhere nice to go eat that's so close to home!

Went last week to see if it had gotten better... Sat looking at the menu very disappointed with lack of choice and higher prices, chicken breast on a bun isn't a chicken burger at all... Didn't have in stock what we wanted so we walked out. Probably won't be going back apart from to take kids fuzzies.

Well we went in yesterday and I couldn't even cut up my Yorkshire pudding! My boyfriend had ribs which mustve just been left out for ages as it was rock hard and burnt. Turkey was dry. Was waiting well over an hour for the food and it wasn't even busy. Also there was an extra order put in that I didn't ask for so had to swap the dish. The starter was great, just disappointed with the mains. Also two dishes we originally wanted they didn't have the meat for.

Disappointed the menu is just burgers, carvery and pizza, lasagna is only available in vegetarian, no steak or mixed grill which is a staple pub food. When we commented about this the bar staff got shirty and said that we would have to complain to the chain! However another member of staff said that he hadnt noticed and understood my point. I got the steak pie which was dry around the edges and pasty was hard, veg was cold and bland. As some people I was with had ordered from the menu we were waiting for those meals so we could eat together, this took over an hour. Wont be going back!

Came the first week it opened and although service was very slow I didn't mind because it's to be expect when first opening teething problems etc and the pizzas were absolutely gorgeous. Came last week when it was the kids Halloween party and it was horrendous. Nothing left that we wanted to order, chicken from the chicken and ribs tasted like it had been left there reheating for days, organisation near pizza deck and carvery is terrible everyone climbing over each other so food (that we waited nearly 2 hours for) was cold by the time we ate it. Staff were rude, got huffed at and an eye role when I asked someone to wipe the table for us, and even I was charged 3 pound more than I should have been for 1 meal I got laughed at and told it wasn't really a big difference. Well yeah I agree but when you're waiting 2 hours for cold food that we didn't really want and was only ordered as back up because you didn't have what we want, it is a big difference

Absolutley appaled at staff member, i asked if table could be cleaned as had dirty glasses etc on, now didnt mind waiting a little while that wasnt the issue, the issue is being told someone will get round to it eventually but could be a long wait & thats my own fault for sitting at a dirty table! I sat in the area with the tv as i had my children with me! Wouldnt mind if it was busy but there was literally 3 tables in other than us! Discusting attitude to have

We were then daft enough to order a pudding after being told that there wouldn't be a long wait for them we waited 40 minutes for these, obviously we got sick of waiting and went and got out money back to be told that they hadn't even started our puddings yet.

While we were waiting for our puddings a couple came in and ordered drinks and started to order food, in the middle of them

Ordering they were told there would be a 45 minute wait, the server went and checked in the kitchen and the woman had a sip of her glass of wine, he came back and confirmed the wait so they cancelled there order. I couldn't believe this but the guy behind the bar then poured her glass of wine back into the bottle! Unbelievable.

I know I will not go here again. I hear they're closing and reopening as something else. Pointless because they never get there crap together.

Used to love this place with the kids. Now it's a joke. Having to leave your children whilst you get your own food which was awful must I add. Tried the carvery and the pizza.. service is stupid. They expected me to carry 3 red hot plates. Baring in mind 1 was for salad as this is the only plates they had. Poor

Will definitely not be going again we have used this pub for years but disgusted ...

We all agree worst bar meal in doncaster always wanted to try here as it looks nice from the out side,the toilets had a horrible smell, never again and will never recommend infact will inform all DON'T.
