User

Had a lovely meal last night. Was served by Josh who was very attentive, polite and friendly. The food was cooked to perfection and it was quick to arrive. Will definitely be coming back again soon.

User

Fantastic steaks on the menu at the minute. Always had lovely service and some of the waiters / waitresses are really friendly.. Sarah is lovely and very down to earth etc. Good restaurant all round.

User

Booked table online for 7pm arrived 7.05 and taken straight to table. Drink orders taken at table and arrived swiftly meal orders taken and food was good I do think if you don't have a 40% off voucher the menu is expensive but all in all a lovely evening and a polite waitress

User

Absolutely brilliant meal here last night. Lovely venue and Very busy for a Thursday night (which I thought was a good sign), however this did mean quite a wait for our food. Saying that, we didn't even have chance to grumble when it came as the waitress was quick to give us a drink on the house and complimentary desserts! Keep up the good work Victoria!

Food was of very good quality, price was brilliant and portion size was good, the refillable chips were a huge bonus!

Will definitely be returning.

User

Food excellent and waiter always there asking if everything OK and asking if we needed more drinks. As it was our family get together for Christmas and family had come from other parts of the country it was a brilliant venue. Only problem was parking as found it hard to find a space had to drive round 4 times.

User

First class service from the very friendly waitress and first class food. Would have been five stars but we had to wait a fair time for our food. Apart from that - Excellent!

User

Always first class , the best open chicken sandwich for miles

User

Lovely food and lovely service ...just feel it is over priced for pub food £6 for a prawn cocktail starter and steaks £26 .....

User

Went on reputation as beefeater brand was synonymous with value for money great food and good service unfortunately missed on all three on this visit hoe it's just this branch poor food clock cold poor portion size for the cost and very poor service from waiting staff

User

Asked for poached eggs to be told by the lazy miserable girl serving they couldnt do them as they had problems with the gas but everthing else was ok. Mushrooms were tasteless tomatoes and fried eggs looked plastic cheap beans. Only thing ok was the sausages. Well over priced.

Anchor is my local, and I eat there very often. Sometimes it is great, sometimes good, and sometimes not very good....Today.....was different.... Ordered a burger for lunch, cut it in half and pulled put a long piece of red plastic.... For second thought it could be red onion skin....but was plastic. Friend checked it as well....plastic..... Took it up to bar, waitress said yes, plastic and apologised..... Took it back, offered another meal which I refused, but would go back again.... But, manager then came out, apologised and said it was red onion skin......stupid I am not..... An apology would have been fine.... Things happen.... But to tell me I do not know the difference between onion skin and plastic....that friend verified....is an insult.... And as I had already sent it back had no evidence.... Not happy..... Will eat there again, because I like the pub, but not happy with today's treatment!

User

What has happened to The Anchor? You used to be a good place to eat but now your menu is restrictive and very expensive. Our table of 5 walked out today along with several others and went to Ashby lodge. We won't be returning again I'm affaird.

User

Visited again with our grandsons. Order fish and chips from main menu for myself and when it come it was a tiny bit of fish and a whole lot of batter! One of my grandson's ordered the Gammon also from main menu and the dish included a fried egg but what he got was a piece of rubber. Did ask for a replacement which arrived after he had finished his meal. Had 4 main meals and none of them were perfect.

User

Try to avoid going here from previous bad experiences with poor food quality and overpriced. Gave the benefit of the doubt, which I soon regretted. Waiting to be seated to have waitresses look right at us and ignore us, and unless you want an overpriced child's meal portion do not order the seafood rigatoni pasta. Although it tasted ok, for over £11 a plate it was like a starter size portion and advertised as containing pollock and prawns. There were 3 prawns in total and one tiny square of pollock. It was more like a value ready meal from the supermarket. Next time I'll remember why I don't go here!

User

Please let me know if anyone thinks this is acceptable for there children to eat?! Table booked for 530pm was told there was a 40 minute wait for mains as it was very busy. Ok fair enough I was prepared to wait. So an hour later our food came out and it was FREEZING. Absolutely disgusting and the kids chips covered In black stuff out the fryer but they think this is acceptable never again will I eat here compete and utter joke and totally disgusting

User

Ordered Tomahawk 35oz steak, expected a large steak but ended up with a big bone, very little meat and full of fat and for £40? Children's brownie pudding was appalling the worst I've ever seen in any restaurant. Had to demand to see the manager in the end although I had told staff it was awful. The manager looked like she needed a good wash and was not presented very well !!!

Last orders 10:15 it’s like they don’t want the locals business at the weekends.
