Eddie has just had his last breakfast down at the Cow Shed before heading off on a 2500 trek round the country in aid of Alzheimer’s along with his trusty Labrador! We wish them both good luck! Tales from the Trails

A lovely cafe in a great setting , had a smashing breakfast with a pot of tea. What could be better than good food, great service and a sea view

We popped along to Fraisthorpe Beach yesterday thinking we could have a play on the beach and a spot of lunch at your new cafe as a treat for my son's 4th birthday but were so disappointed to find you were closed on Tuesdays!?! It was so busy down there yesterday, the sun was shining and I'm pretty sure we won't have been the only ones disappointed after hearing such good things about the new place!....I've never known an eatery or cafe to shut on Tuesdays Out of season sure, but not now we are heading into summer. We will come back another day as it looks amazing and is such a welcome addition to a fab beach but maybe re-think your seasonal opening hours??

Beautiful location, dog friendly with lots of outside space, would have been a perfect spot if it wasnt for the average cooked breakfast and bordering on rude service.

My partner accidentally spilt her coffee whilst trying to negotiate the door to get outside and a tray, nobody tried to help and when she asked for napkins to clean it up you would have thought she was asking for the world.

The waitress that brought out breakfast bearly spoke and on serving our food to the table outside said "there's cuttlery inside" and walked off leavin us to go back inside and get it.

Of course if the place had been busy we would not of found this as offensive....but it wasnt! The waitree went back in to fold tje napkins she could bearly spare when we spilt a few mls of coffee, the other woman who i assume was meant to be in charge had an equally unwelcoming attitude and spent the entire time talking on her mobile.

Such a shame as its a beautifully renovated place in a lovely location that we have visited for years, however, if a trip to the coast and brakfast is on the cards im afraid hunmanby gap gets our vote.....unless the owner has the sense to sack mrs and miss miserable for some staff that can bear to smile!

A very disappointing time at the new cafe at Fraisthorpe. I was really looking forward to it but on arriving there was a massive queue which I was happy to queue in until I placed my order and had to witness the owner speak to one of the waitresses like dirt I was appalled and couldn't believe what I was hearing. No one should speak to anyone like that especially in front of paying customers it is unprofessional! It didn't happen just once it happened again when we went back for ice cream which whilst I am on the subject I could not believe I paid £2 for a single scoop of ice cream that was the smallest scoop I have ever been given it was more like a third of a scoop. The food was OK but nothing spectacular it was overpriced I paid nearly £7 for a panini with a tiny bit of side salad and a few crisps. My daughters food was ordered but never arrived so had to wait for that to come after ours had arrived. Overall a disappointing visit which is a shame as the place looks lovely.
