So I was fibbing earlier on. We had a wedding in at lunch, but tonight is all about a surprise birthday party for one of our regulars. Happy birthday Lou! Glad you were completely stunned! Xx

went here for a family meal and iv got to say it was best food iv had for a long time the venison pie was amazing... my little girl loved her sausage and mash n my mother thought her fish was delisious deffo be coming back ���

We were staying in Huby for two nights and I looked on trip advisor and this place was highly recommended. I was not disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious. We sat outside in the sun and dined. It was beautiful. Lovely views over the river. Very peaceful. Staff were extremely friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We visited on a lovely summers day. However, the interior is just as stunning, modern and traditional all at the same time. Plus, the toilets had flannels and moisturising cream which after hiking for a couple of hours, it was a nice refreshing touch. I simply can't wait to visit York again so that we can dine here :-)

We were passing through with the idea of going to Monks Cross for a corporate burger. Im really glad we stopped , and as it was just after 8 PM they had finished cooking. The land lady said we could do something simple like a meat pie so we agreed. The pies were not simple , they were delicious , just the job for two hungry travellers.

We have been coming here on and off for a good number of years when visiting the area. Food is always excellent. Very friendly atmosphere.

We had our wedding reception here in July 2015. From start to finish of the preparations and service everything was perfect and completely stress free. Kerry was great throughout and her team were all fab on the big day too! Food came out at a good pace and it was lovely! Enjoyed by all, I didn't hear one single complaint, pretty good going for my family! The hog roast on the evening, which my husband nagged me for on our wedding day, it was truly outstanding and he didn't even get to taste it he was too busy at the bar, I mean still full from our wedding breakfast! Overall, we could not have asked for anything better! One thing I would say is that the bar went dry a little too quick of spirits, but it didn't ruin our day whatsoever! Huge thanks to the bar staff, you were fab with all of our rowdy guests! Huge compliments and thanks to all that got us through the day and put up with us, and most importantly made it special!

The food is always fantastic (though not cheap) and they sell draught Erdinger! Also, it has a beautiful beer garden and we moor our boat on the river at the end of the lawn. Perfect on a summer's evening.
