Congratulations this morning to Captain Ed Bryant who has just completed his first solo flight in a Gyrocopter at The Gyrocopter Experience York. Ed is pictured here with instructor Matthew Sellers. Congratulations Ed.... many more hours of flying ahead.

I've been interested in these flying machines since I was a child seeing the gyro copter in the James Bond film "you only live twice".

And when I found out that you can pay to fly in one, my wife bought me voucher to have an experience in one. It was amazing and I recommend everyone to try it. Jim the instructor is brilliant and really makes you feel like a valued client, he even let me take control during the flight.

I booked a 90 minute flight for my 50th from York. Upon arrival I was met by Katie and Phil and was very impressed with their set up and professionalism. I've been involved in the aviation industry for 32 years and had never flown in a Gyrocopter. It was amazing, Phil is a fantastic host and instructor, the aircraft and experience was great so if you have ever fancied doing it, go and do it you won't be disappointed. Afterflight service was again very professional and I will be recommending them to everyone. I will definetly be returning for air experience flights if not pilot training. Many thanks Phil and Katie.

Had a great time at the controls everyone was amazingly friendly highly recommend for a thrilling day out Joe

Great experience in the Cavalon . Thanks to Jim the instructor - felt exciting but very safe ! Recommend anyone to try it .

Got me and my son this for Christmas we have done a lot of different things,but this was right up there . Everyone in the team where fantastic and knew there stuff would recommend this to anyone cheers guys

Friendly knowledgable staff who go out of their way to help you feel at ease. I would highly recommend The Gyrocopter Experience and can't wait to go again :-)

Brilliant. My partner, Andrew is currently doing hours as an instructor under Phil's supervision and I'm one of Andrews students. It's just the best place !
