We traveled on Santaā€™s steam train on the 9th December and absolutely loved it, despite the weather causing delays. It was pretty cold and the staff were amazing telling us to jump on the normal train service whilst we waited to keep warm.... this morning we received complimentary tickets for all of us as a way of an apology for the snow and delays, what a fabulous thing to receive and totally unexpected. Thank you worth valley railway ļæ½

Visited on the 16th of February to take a trip on a steam train from Keighley to Haworth. Lovely little journey, and you get to travel on a piece of history.

I revisited on the 9th of March to visit the Steam Gala just to stand on the platform and take photos. Some fantastic trains travelling in and out of Haworth station that day. Friendly staff on both days at Keighley and Haworth station.

I am very proud to say these railway lines keep to tradition, the trains are beautiful, the buildings do not look changed from the Victorian days, and outside Haworth station is an old Victorian post box (still used as a normal post box) and West Yorkshire Bus stop sign that have been preserved for all to see.

Sunday 10th December 2017 had a lovely afternoon on the Keighley Santa special steam train for my grandsons 4th birthday treat on Monday.... He was so excited throughout the journey... The snow was falling while we was on the train which made it look more Christmassy.. Was first time weā€™d been but Would defo go again and recommend it to any one who hasnā€™t been before...

SAY Video ā€“ KWVR 50th Anniversary Gala

June 2018 saw the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway celebrate its 50th Anniversary of hauling passenger services along the picturesque 5 mile route between Keighley and Oxenhope. The pioneering spirit of those early preservationists and of the achievements of the volunteers that have followed in their footsteps were celebrated in style with and 8-day Gala capturing the achievements of those 50 years.

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway 50th Anniversary DVD

First opened in 1867, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway was built to serve the mill owners and small towns of the Worth Valley. The railway continued to run until the 30th December 1961 when British Railways withdrew passenger services, regular freight services continued to operate until the 18th June 1962.

Having closed to regular traffic, one final service ran on the 23rd June 1962 to celebrate the newly formed Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Preservation Society, whom chartered a special passenger train from Bradford to Oxenhope and return. After this train the section between Oxenhope and Ingrow Junction was completely closed. A preservation society was formed in 1962 of rail enthusiasts and local people which bought the line from British Railways and reopened it on 29th June 1968 as a heritage railway.

User

Loved coming as a child and still love it now especially when the train arrives at ā€˜Oakworth, Oakworth Stationā€™. Great to visit where The Railway Children was filmed. A great day out!

User

Its a unique experience lovely helpful staff, lots of information given and a good time had by my grandchildren it runs up tge back of my old house and I remeber when there used to be a goods yard and another track below parkwood street.

Haworth Haddock - 2 June 2018 - what a great night! Staff, fish and chips and the Pretend Beatles were all marvellous. Great fun and good company. Prefect way to spend an early summer evening - can highly recommend it ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½

User

Had a wonderful day today behind Royal Scot. Could have done with some ice cold drinks instead of the tea and coffee on such a hot day.

User

Great day out with my 4 kids under 12. Lots to keep them busy and interested on a wet day in the holidays.

User

Everything about the trip was perfect.

Cream teas were great.

Well worth every penny.

User

Certainly put effort in for events. Vast variety of museums to visit on site with interesting collections.

On a personal note, my girlfriend and I visited the 2017 beer festival and had a great, if a little crowded time. However, while boarding the train she slipped on a platform kerb stone and damaged her shoulder. The weather was shocking so this accounts for the slip. The staff as a result of this were brilliant with us, offering shelter and first aid care.

Cracking railway and superb staff

Absolutely brilliant! I came from Australia to see the Steam Gala and was not disappointed. A fantastic day out with friendly staff and and an amazing array of different trains and locomotives. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the UK!

20 of us travelled on the Haworth Haddock for my partnerā€™s 50th Birthday, we all had a fantastic day! All the staff were so friendly and helpful (big shout out to Anita!) great food and drink and a brilliant atmosphere. I canā€™t recommend it enough...weā€™ll be back.

User

Very disappointed this year. We have been coming on this for 4 years but will not be bothering any more. After a mix up with presents (my 4 year old Son was given a 12 month olds present), which we managed to change but were made to feel ungrateful about it, then having to explain to him why he was given a pink teddy instead of a ā€˜boy toyā€™! Also chastised for asking for a mince pie for my Son even though we have paid the same for him as the adults! ļæ½
