Hi guys now we’re almost into October and Halloween is fast approaching. In partnership with our local spar intake We’re holding a kids Halloween party on Sunday 28th October between 4pm and 8pm. £4 per child ticket each ticket comes with a kiddies goodie bag free burger or hot dog kids party games and disco. prizes for winners of the games and of course prizes for the best dressed boy and girl. we have been to the sportsman a few times now and i have to say what a difference the new managment have made!! It was such good service and amazing food and a good value for money they even gave my daughter a little easter egg cup with a easter egg in the cup which made my daughters day!! Highly recommend pub! Such a friendly pub
Went here for Christmas dinner.
We both had Pate starters and I must say it was the best we’ve both tasted in a long time.
Then it was the Traditional turkey dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection, very enjoyable.
After this we were both stuffed so waited a while before tackling the cheese & biscuits which had a nice selection of both.
The service was fabulous. We felt relaxed and not at all rushed.
Overall a lovely setting, great food, great company and great staff. ��
Visited last night, first time in years. Very impressed. Fab decor, friendly staff, food was gorgeous and didn't have to wait long for it. Management were very welcoming. Disappointed that karaoke wasn't on, but we were the last to leave . Great night in a great atmosphere.
Myself. Sister and neice was there yesterday and we all enjoyed the meal and the service it's been a long time since I was in there as I live in Mablethorpe now but when I visit my family again will be calling in there again xxxx thank you for your service
Must say i was somewhat apprehensive over my first visit in over 4 years as the landlord at that time seemed to have used it as his personal playground allowing all sorts of trash do pretty much do what they wanted before the police closed it down for what ever reason.
With all the improvements to the outside and the knowledge that a new manager had taken over i braved a visit and was somewhat even amazed at the transformation Clean and tidy, Staff were happy smiling polite and attentive, The food was very good both in quality and value for my hard earned cash.
Totally enjoyed my visit and will be going again.
Just hope that this continues to be the case for future visits

Live in Armthorpe not been here for ages as to bad experiences..lovely summer night had a walk up with friends for food and a couple of drinks..absolutely outstanding the food was amazing and for £7 the amount you got was unbelievable highly recommend and will definitely return
Had yet another enjoyable meal here. Staff are really polite, they apologised several times for the delay which we had not even thought was a delay. Would recommend.

Had a fab night at ladies night, all the staff are lovely. Dawn & Paul have gone above and beyond to make the sportman great. The pub is very recently refurbished and looks fantastic. I would highly recommend.
Went for lunch. Service was great happy friendly staff. Main did tale while to come and manager came up and apologised fir any inconvenience caused. Cowboy burger xl, steak ale pie and ham and cheese bagel piping hot when brought out and delicious. Dessert were chocolate fudge cake, munchies sundae . I ordered the milk and cake, I got a mini cake instead, which I was charged for so not over charged just wrong item ordered. When I brought this to managers attention he was really apologetic and wanted to get me what I ordered. I did decline because I'd already started eating the dessert. They couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely go again

Me and my friend were just here, and initially thought the prices on the menu must be wrong, so we checked with the lady behind the bar. £5.75 for a 3 course menu, with additional tea/coffee for just 50p. It's not 5 star food, but for that price, it simply can't be beaten for value for money. I will definitely be eating here again.
My starter was a soup of the day (tomato)☑
Main Ham egg and chips☑
Pudding Chocolate fudge cake✅✅✅
My friend had Prawn cocktail for starter and mini fish and chips. Both were standard☑
And should probably mention that the service was great, 5 mins wait for starters, 10 mins wait for mains and same for puddings.
When we walked in the food area was empty so we sat at table number 9 the two guys who were sapose to be working wher in there phone's .l checked the condiments as I do its me thing coz i Love seasoning on my meal on salt no vinegar in the vinegar jug so they hadn't been filled anytime soon, so what have those two been doing all shift ? Anyway the food came n it was the wrong one for me but my daughter's was right so he took it back and me n my daughter ended up not eating together . Dissapointed to say the least !More disappointment in my life !!
Waited over half an hour for the order to be wrong. One staff member was extremely rude. We are waiting at the minute for 30 min for ice-creams yes thats right ice-cream when i asked the same where they was she said its on its way and then turned her back. Oh and we are still waiting for table to be cleaned even though she has been over to table. I would not recomend to anyone. Will not be coming back and the shame is the food was lovely just poor staff unfortunately!
The service was ok but the food was cold and the turkey must have been left on hot tray as it very very dry even gravy wouldn’t have covered up and the the service to clear table didn’t happen had to sit rest of night with all dirty pots and glasses was not impressed won’t go again
Real same after the visit today, ordered starters of breaded mushrooms and chicken strips the mushrooms where stone cold in the middle so had to wait for fresh ones fair enuf they were red hot when they came back, after we had finished the starters waited 40mins for our main meals then they got took to the wrong table so had to wait an extra 20mins for fresh meals not doing no courtesy check backs on tables, I had a burger never had something so bland in my life my girlfriend had rump steak no taste to it at all and was watery, did not enjoy it at all and doubt we will be back again.. we’ve been a few time now and when we come in the staff always seem to be running about like headless chickens and seem to be understaffed especially on a Sunday which is bound to be a busy day and on this day there was a private function on in one side of the pub so would really be prepared for being busy anyway doubt there is anything that can be done now but spent £30 on food that was awful and left most of if
