What a great find! We always pop in for food when weŌĆÖre in York and itŌĆÖs perfectly located just down from the railway station. Always found the food to be of a really good standard and the Sunday lunch is superb. Cheerful, friendly staff who are always very helpful. Great atmosphere. CanŌĆÖt rate this place highly enough.

Lovely place. Good food, plus polite, quick and friendly service from all staff. They went out of their way to make my partners 21st birthday special for her too. Definately will come here for a meal the next time in York.

Lovely friendly pub restaurant with a warm relaxed atmosphere, only wish we had gone there the night begins to eat, the food look great too.

Lovely friendly place made welcome. Food was great fish & chips excellent and really good value for money bottle rose ┬Ż10 and two meals for ┬Ż10 only downside was Everton getting beat but The Windmill couldnt help that must visit fab ’┐Į

Loved it. Clean tidy no tables not cleared. Staff really friendly. Starter of mushrooms with cream. Gourmet burger huge. Uber critical half the size of the mushrooms it was to big for a starter and serve with crusty bread as I wanted to mop the dish up. Would I eat here again yes if I ever visit York. Must be under new management as all the plates went back to kitchen empty. No complaints from me well done and thank you

Fabulous place, we came to York for four days and ate here three times. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and professional staff and wonderful food especially if you have a large appetite as the portions are huge! If we lived locally this would definitely be regular visitors.

Cute pub, lovely beer garden- great for a sunny day. Food is good as far as pubs go- nice cocktails and really friendly service and management! Would recommend

A group of twenty of us, staying next door at the premier inn, so used pun all weekend really, friendly, clean, good food and beer. Good service as well.

Well i was very surprised real nice inside great food top staff and good bit of banter spaniel dog was made welcome aswell defo Will return

always enjoyed going to this pub. As we don`t live locally we booked for a seat near the fire/window, but when we got there was put elsewhere. Not good after being in a car for 4hrs. Meal was ok this time. Will stay go back.

Sorry guys but we spent a couple of days in York and on Easter Sunday we stopped off at the windmill for food. Unfortunately the food was abysmal and the cutlery was filthy had to ask them to change it. Perhaps it was because they were busy. ??

Worst meal I've ever encountered, disgusting considering price of a Sunday lunch boil in a bag compressed meat what's that all about ,get cooking with proper chefs and get some cleaners in

To say this restaurant/pub is in the middle of York you don't represent the city very well... Possibly one of - if not, the worst meal I have EVER eaten in my life. We all had burgers and everyones tasted like it had been sat on the side all day and just reheated, would have mentioned it to one of the staff members but they all seemed to be too occupied with whoever was in the kitchen, maybe whoever is in charge of the kitchen staff should maybe pull their finger of out their arse and sort that out and maybe let the manager of the floor know that they need to employ staff that actually want to be there and not uni students who dont give a shit whether customers leave happy or not. would have rated less but wasnt an option.

This has to be one of the worst pub meals I have ever had,waited ages for starter had antipasti sharer no Olives or bloomer bread no salad dressing, main meal another long wait, pies were burnt on the bottom rock hard pastry, did mention about antipasti all we got was IŌĆÖll feed that back. So disappointed as it looked such a lovely place ’┐Į

The food was greasy and not cooked to how we had ordered, the pub and bar were a mess, they clearly need more staff, the bar staff that they had on didnŌĆÖt give a shit, half way through the meal they turned the football on extremely loud!!! There were children and families in there for gods sake!!! I hope the owner is reading this cos your staff/manager need to be sacked!!! The decor of the pub was amazing and itŌĆÖs such a shame cos it could be the most amazing pub!

Ordered starter and main course. Starter arrived very quickly clearly all just deep fried.

Main course took ages!, when finally arrived it was clear that it had been standing for ages so I returned and asked for it to be recooked. Eventually arrived and not really and better overlooked burgers with cooked salad and burnt bread bun.

Only went ther to use a voucher I'd received as a gift but not a patch on my usual places so won't be returning. Not even offered a discount for the inconvenience ;(
