Lovely supporters, thank you so much for all you do. I've just spoken to a lovely mum who is so overwhelmed that we want to help, she cried with happiness. I appreciate you can't hear that in person, but take it from me, when a parent is battle weary and has seen their child, and family, go through a terrible time, it's YOU who help us to make a difference. Thank you!

We are delighted that Marie, Olga and Shelly are holding their annual Charity Day in aid of When You Wish Upon a Star.
This will take place on Friday 28th September 2018 and lunch will be served from 11.30am to 2pm. This is being held at home at 185 Clee Road, Cleethorpes DN35 9HX
The "Bring and Buy" stall will be open from 11am and they would welcome any items for this stall, as well as any raffle prizes or prizes for name-cards. Donations can be collected by calling 01472... 485993.
There are two choices of menu, the set menu is just £4 for: Any Sandwich from list below served with coleslaw, salad and crisps
Any dessert and cream
Tea/Coffee and Juice
Alternatively, sandwiches may be bought individually at £2 per sandwich, on brown or white bread as follows: Tuna and Mayo Ham Cheese and Onion Egg Mayo Salmon all served with Coleslaw, Salad and Crisps
Home-made desserts are available individually at £1.50 each as follows: Apple pie & cream Bramble & apple pie and cream Fruit trifle and cream
Tea/Coffee or juice is available at 80p each

Our children and their families had such a wonderful day on board the Santa Express in 2017. This trip is only made possible by the efforts and generosity of local people and businesses. We'd love to hear from anyone who could help us to raise much needed funds - each place costs £400 and is a day to remember forever!

The first draw takes place on Saturday 11 August 2018, with 60p from every £1 ticket going to local charities and good causes in Lincoln and surrounding areas.

Not all Superheroes wear capes...in fact, some of them wear 'Wish' vests! A huge thank you goes out to Rebecca Wood, who took part in the 5km Spartan Challenge (through mud, water, hills and obstacles) to say thank you to When You Wish Upon a Star for what we have done for someone very close to her heart. She has raised a fantastic £1019.00 (plus £115.50 in Gift Aid) to help make special wishes come true. Now, that's a Superhero!

When brave Luke wrote to us and told us his dearest Wish was to go to Disneyland Paris and meet Pluto, we knew we had to try and make it happen. Luke has endured more operations and hospital stays than more of us would ever experience in several lifetimes. We are delighted to say that we recently made Luke's Wish come true! Here's what his mum wrote on their return:
Dear Joanne and the When You Wish Upon a Star team... We are back, we have had the most amazing time in Disn...eyland. We sailed from Hull to Zeebrugge and drove to the Disneyland Hotel. It’s an amazing hotel. The rooms are so peaceful yet in such a busy place . The food was amazing - we all put weight on! We have had early starts with magic time in the park and watching the fireworks late. We did so many rides and shopped till we dropped! We ate, we laughed and I cried. It was an emotional trip for me . We forgot all of Luke’s troubles and woes and had the time of our lives together as a family, away from hospitals. Luke was totally over-joyed at meeting so many Disney characters and feeling so happy and enjoying life . There are no words that will ever be said to thank you enough for making Luke’s dream come true. For those precious days from Hull and over to Disneyland and home, all the pain and heartache and upset he’s endured and copes with in everyday life was gone. Life is for living and he makes every day count.. All our love Karen and George and Luke. ❤️❤️❤️

Well a week on from our most magical trip on the Santa Express and we are being reminded of the amazing time we had through more photos being posted today....

The memories we made really will last a lifetime and the past week we keep reminiscing about all the little details that made it such a fantastic day. Elliot and ourselves were truly spoilt from start to finish and we are so grateful for a day to feel so pampered and relaxed.

Wish upon a star have perfected the art of creating and making such special days. There must be so much planning that goes on and we can't thank everyone involved enough for how much time and effort they put in....it really started off our Christmas on a high.

Today I was brave enough to jump out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft from 15000 feet to raise money for when you wish upon a star charity. It was an amazing feeling and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would do it again.xxxx

My son and I, were very fortunate to board the Northern Belle Santa express today! It was amazing from start to finish!! The train was beautiful, the food was fab, and the staff were wonderful. A big thank you to everyone who organised and volunteered to make this such a wonderful memory for us! You are all truly amazing!! Thank you wish upon a star from the bottom of our hearts xxxx

My family and I was fortunate enough to be invited along to the Santa express this year and we would like to thank everyone involved for making the day magical and for making so many special memories for the children and their families.

We haven't had much to look forward to and enjoy as a family this year but from the moment we found out we was going (we kept it a surprise for the kids) to boarding the fabulous train, entering Santa's retreat and all the wonderful activities and food seeing the smile on the children's faces will stay with me fofever.

The northern belle is a stunning train and Santa’s retreat was Mind blowing! We loved every minuet of the day! The people, food and characters were brilliant! You made my boys wishes come true! They met Santa!! We also met so many beautiful family’s all so deserving! So thank you all so much for making it such a special & magical day for my boys! We loved it!! Xx

I'd just like to say a huge thank you to When You Wish Upon A Star and to the fantastic girls who do such a great job of running the charity locally. My family won the first prize of a week's holiday staying at the When You Wish Upon A Star lodge in Cornwall at last year's Annual Ball and we have just returned, having had the best time! The lodge was superb, the facilities were excellent and even the sun was shining! So a huge thank you once again and the best of luck with all of the amazing fundraising events and activities that you have planned this coming year - The Everson family.

Dear when you wish upon a star.

As a wish supporter since my first ever fundraiser in 2011 after reading your story in the Grimsby Evening Telegraph for help with funding seats for Lapland.

I have seen first hand all the effort/blood/sweat/tears and selfless acts of kindness/giving thoughtfulness and love that goes into making children’s dreams come true.

When my grandson was diagnosed with his condition we were broken parents and grandparents, then to be offered a place on the Santa Express was unbelievable.

From arriving at the station the excited energy bouncing around was contagious, the beautiful Northern Belle with its many luxurious carriages and magnificent staff rolled up and the family’s boarded to utter delight and amazement to what greeted them.

All Santa’s little helpers made the journey so exciting and the children were inundated with gifts and things to do.

The food on board was excellent.....

After arriving at Santa’s retreat the children were greeted with much much even more precious moments from the amazing band that played the helpers/celebrities and everyone involved-the children danced made things - ate things - met Santa, wish upon a star never stopped giving.

After the most mind blowing time at Santa’s retreat it was back on board the Northern belle for a beautiful Christmas dinner and another visit from Santa Claus to all, the tears started and I still can not find the words to express just how wonderful and magical the whole day was from start to finish was.

I feel that just saying a massive gigantic enormous THANK YOU just isn’t enough to this amazing charity.

My family and I are so grateful to you all for making this happen and we promise never to stop raising funds so many more families get the chance to make amazing memories with our most precious gift.

We love you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we will always be eternally grateful.
