York Best Western Kilima Hotel has been a fantastic discovery a beautiful traditional hotel that offers quiet, peaceful settings for anyone on business or pleasure.

On offer apart from the spacious rooms plus en suite are a pool gym & sauna for those of us who require a little extra something.

The staff from reception restaurant kitchen and house keeping are the back bone of this quant family style business. Friendly, efficient, informative, ready to help wherever necessary.

The food is first class and of a good portion - maybe for some too much....if you have a small appetite?!

It's easy to see the staff take care & pride in their customers making you feel nothing but special -not in a drum up business way but from a personal friendly, family orientated way.

I have no hesitation in recommending York Best Western Kilima Hotel to anyone looking to stay in York on a business or pleasure trip.

A lasting memorable experience to be repeated....

We have just returned from staying at this hotel as we were meeting family there, I must say Chris the General Manager makes the hotel he is so friendly and goes out of his way to help , he was great with the kids also and was dry accommodating, the room was lovely and the breakfast so fresh and lovely pleasant staff. The family used the swimming pool which they throughly enjoyed. This hotel is well worth a visit.

We had a lovely stay in 'Four Poster Bed' , all staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful, Breakfast all made to order was very nice, toast could be made in a normal toaster not the awful roll round toasters that burn the toast. This gem of a hotel had a bar, restaurant, pool, gym, and in the hallway, free important toiletries in case you forgot anything. Already looking forward to staying here again.

Stayed overnight on 22/23 October..room was perfect just what we needed..Chris the manager was witty and cheerful and then we had a spot breakfast the next morning. Would recommend and we'll stay here again in the future.

Stayed here for two nights for our annual reunion. Rooms very nice and Breakfast the best I have seen for some time. Evening meals also brilliant and portions more than generous. Would stay again and recommend highly.

Stayed for a cheeky night away. Was very impressed that we were shown to our room. Thought the table of things you might forget an excellent idea. Bed very comfortable, shower powerful, breakfast had great choice and was lovely and good cutlery. Everyone very helpful and pleasant. All in all could not fault it. Will definitely be back.

Just got back from a lovely stay at best Western hotel Kilima the hotel was lovely and clean the staff all of them very helpful and polite the food was excellent. The only thing which I didn't enjoy was the pool was very cold but I would definitely go back there. It was also very close to York and the railway station and had some nice local pubs to eat at and a very good Italian restaurant too.

Hassle free, friendly helpful staff, lovely clean room. Great location 10 minute walk into the town centre and parking included and enjoyed the swimming pool. Will return for sure!

User

Fabulous hotel with lovely staff and great food. The swimming pool and steam room were also great. There is a gym also, although we didn't use it. The hotel is set in a great location, just a 15 minute walk to the centre. Would recommend this hotel as it's great value for money. We will definitely return. Thank you to all the staff at the kilimar for making our stay an even better one!

Fab weekend spent in York. The Kilima experience started with Chris checking us in - very friendly and helpful. Even tried to get a taxi for us to get into the city for our dinner reservation

Breakfast this morning was excellent. Cooked to order. Very hot and plentiful. We could leave the car in the free car park after checkout which was very kind of them

Well within walking distance from hotel to centre.

Clean and inviting and yes, the showers are hot and powerful

Will def stay again. Thanks Chris for everything. Nice to meet you

Swimming pool and gym - good breakfast

Came here to be convenient for York City centre and National Railway Museum both of which are within walking distance 15 mins for the former and 10 mins for the latter.

The monitored car park, pool and steam room, our four poster bedroom, and all staff we encountered were excellent as was breakfast.

We hope we can get up here again and would certainly rebook this hotel. Thanks to all. Sonia and Terry White

My family - 6 adults and 2 small children stayed at the end of Oct 2016 for a long weekend to celebrate a special birthday. York was chosen as we all live scattered around the country and we had a great time. The rooms were large, clean and of a very high standard. The shower was powerful and the bathroom large, Having a pool was ideal for the small children to use up energy and perfect to relax for the grown ups. Clean, warm and very inviting.

Breakfasts were fresh and lots of choice with a help yourself cold buffet with full English breakfasts and other hot dishes served to your table.

The manager, Chris, is the jewel in the crown to this gem of a hotel. Wether at the front desk welcoming or helping new arrivals, serving drinks at the well stocked bar or replenishing the 'help yourself to forgotten items' collection in the foyer.. toothpaste, razors, toothbrush etc, nothing was too much trouble.

Always smiling, always happy, Chris and his team have the best kept secret hotel in York sorted. Thank you from us

User

Lovely welcome the room adequate for all your needs the facilities are great lovely swimming pool and sauna breakfast was served fast and nice and plenty on offer was able to leave car and walk or bus into town

User

Just spent 2 nights at this hotel. Could not fault the staff, food, cleanliness and general all round nice vibe. Also a great location near to the centre.

User

Unfortunately Room was quite dated. Pool was a nice addition. Breakfast...unfortunately if you can not cook a poached egg then there is issues...egg was not cooked and The full cooked breakfast was minimal. Hotel needs to revamp its old rooms to a modern standard. Lots of competition in York

User

Last time I visited this hotel 5years ago was fantastic, however this weekend was not a lot to be desired, hotel needs a good complete makeover bathroom in 22 not good at all shabby door shabby fittings and then Saturday night 12 people were asked to leave the bar at 11.50 because the bar closes then , this place is supposed to be a hotel not a dormitory,
