They’re supposed to be busy making chocolate at the @York Cocoa York Cocoa Works but it seems like they’ve been having a big party down there this week!

Unique chocolate and staff that are passionate about creating joy through flavour. Well worth a visit.

Thought I'd treat my mum for an early mother's day afternoon tea and it was amazing. We both had a brilliant time, enjoyed delicious food and we were both raving on about the Belgian white hot chocolates hours after. Thank you so much to all the staff for being so warm and welcoming and compliments to the chef on the yummy food

This place is incredible.

The staff are so lovely and the whole place has a lovely relaxed vibe about it.

We went for afternoon tea & an absurd of food arrived, not to say we didn't nearly finish it all. Don't have breakfast before......we know that now.

The selection of hot chocolates is deadly. The bergamot is insanely good. Everyone needs to go here. It's a chocolaty haven

Stayed in York overnight and ended up visiting both days we were in the city!

On Monday we decided to do something a little different and did the "bean to bar" workshop. We really enjoyed getting to try everything from 100% cocoa to white chocolate before choosing our favourite to create a personalised bar, well worth it. The leader of the workshop was really knowledgeable and friendly, he was happy to answer any questions we had and definitely made the workshop that little bit better.

We had also been wanting to visit somewhere for afternoon tea and, as we'd had a good experience the evening before, decided to give the 'afternoon chocolate' a try. One word.. Amazing! I'd been feeling a little dubious about chocolate savouries but was very pleasantly surprised - have to say the rarebit was my favourite as you could really taste the chocolate stout! The scone and sweets were equally delicious and we left feeling very full after having thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Because I'd enjoyed my drink so much we bought a bag of the Earl grey hot chocolate, I just hope I can make it taste as nice at home!

Only in York for a few hours. We had an amazing breakfast of chocolate French toast and fruit compote and Rose Hot Chocolate. It was so good we returned later for chocolate flap jack and peanut butter Hot Chocolate for myself and Orange Hot Chocolate for my friend. Again all absolutely delicious.

The place is amazing and the staff were excellent too.

My mum treated me to a chocolate afternoon tea for my birthday. We really enjoyed it, everything had chocolate on it even the savoury food and it worked so well. The hot chocolate drink was delicious too! Will definitely come back and recommend to anyone who is wanting something a little different ���

My friend and I visited this afternoon for a booked chocolate lollipop making g and chocolate afternoon tea slot. It was all glorious!! She has some quite specific dietary requirements and despite not being warned previously, they were very accommodating and didn't charge us for an extra sandwich we had to ensure she had enough to eat. I love this place anyway but love it even more now :)

Just had an impulse visit just in time for a demo at the shop. Lovely staff and we ate a lot of chocolate in some very interesting flavour combinations

It was my first visit and I had the Afternoon Tea, which was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend a visit!

If you love everything chocolate, this place is a chocoholics dream. Warm and inviting, with friendly staff and the most delicious hot chocolate. I will definitely return the next time I'm in York.

If anyone finds themselves wandering around York feeling a bit cold and needing a little refreshment, The York Cocoa House is an absolute comfort and delight �



Had the best cup of Hot chocolate I've ever had � and watched them make it, with actual chocolate and hot milk! � literally 10/10, I was on my own and was truly, honestly-the most comforting and calming experience ever � so good! Thank you, will be back again! � X

I went yesterday to have a peaceful coffee. The sweet lady staff was inviting and a happy face. Coffee was bitter to right taste. The decor is retro . The scone and goat cheese was yum. The hidden piece of chocolate behind my cup was smooth and melted in me. The washroom is homely n unusually comfortable. Unique place where you can be you-nique. Zs

Had a joint party for my 6 year old son and his friend. 20 children between the ages of 2 & 6....... but of risk but the two chaps running the workshop were fantastic. They pitched it at the perfect level for the kids to get involved and get stuck in! They all loved it..... and so did we. The children came home with chocolate truffles and a chocolate lollipop each. A really great party!

Great food and lovely atmosphere. The staff were really helpful and we had a few dietary requirements in the group. It was nice to all be eating the same things. We all had a great time making the chocolate lollies

First of all great service, very friendly and welcoming.

As you walk in the door the smell is mesmerising, you will know what I mean if your a chocolate lover!!!



So much to choose from, could of had it all.

Don't bother queuing for Betty's Tea Room! The York Cocoa House is well worth a visit. I had the Orange Hot Chocolate with some White Chocolate Dipped Shortbread. They were both excellent and not too sweet. We also had a Chocolate on the side with our drinks which I thought was a nice touch. The service was also very good. We went back to the shop before we left York and bought some chocolates to bring home. Looking forward to tucking into those!!

I thought it had a lovely atmosphere, my only criticism is that my table was sticky.

Have been here before several years ago and on that visit would have given 5 stars-lovely venue, staff and food/drink. Sadly today’s visit was not so good, although the staff member who took our order was lovely, the lady at reception who also then brought us our glasses was not. This was due to fact she brought myself a dirty glass to drink from, upon myself politely pointing this out as a lip stain, I was acknowledged with ‘aw yeah it has’ and the glass was taken away- no apology. A replacement glass was then placed down 5 minutes later no apology or acknowledgement . I would expect better service from a place of hospitality.
