'Finding the Words'
Come along and hear some of the most interesting and exciting poets from Yorkshire and beyond at our relaxed and welcoming poetry evening.
Char March is a multi-award-winning poet, and a rip-roaring performer of her work. She’s a genius at accents, and evokes – with panache and poignancy – the multitude of characters in her poems. Her credits include: five poetry collections including ‘Full Stops In Winter Branches’, a collection of 13 of her award-winnin...g short stories, six BBC Radio 4 plays, nine stage plays and two screenplays.
David Wilson will be reading from his poetry collection The Equilibrium Line. It won the 2019 Banff Prize for Mountain Fiction and Poetry and was shortlisted for the 2019 Boardman-Tasker Prize – the only UK-published book to be honoured in both the world’s major mountain literature competitions. It also featured recently in the Guardian’s Best Recent Poetry.
Katie Greenbrown is a York-based spoken word poet with a keen interest in telling stories and collaborating with visual artists and musicians. She’s a Say Owt Slam winner, York Culture Awards winner and has supported both Kate Fox and Hollie McNish live. Her work has been included in a number of anthologies, including The Result is What You See Today by Smith | Doorstop. She is also the first poet to be included in York Open Studios under their 2020 bursary scheme for performers.
