York Kendo Club

Great night with York Uni Kendo Club coming for a visit. Well done all! We'll see you all soon. Thanks to Pedro and Hugo for making it happen.

Hi all, unfortunately tonight's session is cancelled, due to everyone being ill/snowed under. Apologies for the short notice - we'll hopefully see you all on Thursday.

Update on Sunday sessions - we've spoken about doing a monthly afternoon session for 3-4 hours or so. This will give those travelling a good session worth the drive and hopefully encourage friends from nearby clubs to come and train with us. We'll make time for a social afterwards too. Dates tbc - watch this space.

Hi all, we're planning to cancel the Sunday sessions as from end of August and consolidate the club a bit more so we can have better/busier sessions with Keith along as much as possible. So Thursdays will be the night again. There will be other options if you want to get your twice a week fix and we encourage everyone to pop along to the Uni when it starts back up again in October, we'll let you know when they have their dates sorted. It's entirely possible that we can book in day seminars on the Sunday from time to time and we hope to talk to other nearby clubs about doing that. We may go back to twice a week in the future if numbers pick up?

So by my reckoning, that's one yondan, four sandan, a couple of nidan and however many shodan/ikkyu grades that all began their kendo here in York. For all it seems hard work running a club there are times when you can sit back and know it was all worth it!
